    Default Working on Easter Weekend

    Two Parts Here...

Ok, first of all, I am having a moral dilemma about working on Easter Weekend. I have never been much of a religious fanatic and haven't even been to church, well, since I got married 6 years ago. But since I had my daughter I have been feeling more spiritual and have wanted to start attending again, mainly because I want her to be brought up in church. Ok, point I am getting to...does anybody NOT strip on religious holidays because they think it's MORE of a "sin" or is it really just a double standard? I know the obvious answer, if I feel it's wrong then don't do it but Sundays are actually my best night.

Ok, this gets me to the second part... who has experience working on Easter Sunday? Is it dead because people stay out of the club because they feel the way I do about it?

I don't even know if the clubs are open in Phoenix on Easter. I asked the girls in the dressing room at my club and our bitchiest dancer got all in my face about dancing on "the day of our lord." This is also the same girl who is always screaming about our club's new "no touching" rule on the floor.

I think it's silly that some dancers are perfectly comfortable with their jobs until a religious holiday pops up- as if our line of work is moral until we're reminded of baby Jesus for a day. It's one thing to take the day off to celebrate your beliefs- go for it. It's completely another to stay home because it's more "sinful" to take off your clothes on Easter. Making a living is not a sin.

I agree. Take the day off if you want to observe the holiday and show it some reverence. Don't take it off out of 'guilt'.

    yeah, most clubs are closed

and if it means that much to you, it's just one day. it may be your best night, but it won't be that good if nobody shows up (provided they are open.) This whole weekend is going to be bad because it's right before income taxes are due too.

    Stay home.

I'm not working this weekend because all the other Jews and I are holding that annual feast where we celebrate our liberation from bondage by eating tasteless cardboard called "matzo." And this weekend it coincides with our annual celebration of cackling with glee at slaughtering the Christian Lord. Woo-hoo, double holiday!

My club is never open on Sundays, but I'm working tonight and Saturday. We have a feature this weekend, so hopefully it will still be busy even though it's Easter weekend.

Meh. I'm working on Easter. It should be interesting.

I was raised sort of kind of Catholic but have never practiced. In fact if I had to say what "religion" I was, i'd claim heathen, so no guilt here. Besides, I already celebrated Easter by helping my daughters dye thier hair cornea searingly bright colors (a la Special FX, Bright as F Yellow and High Octane Orange respectively) so they look like easter eggies!

Anyhow, ya, working on Easter is most certainly going to eat it.

I'm working tonight, but I don't expect much for four reasons: 1. It's raining here in L.A. and it always seems to suck here when it rains. 2. It's easter weekend, and alot of people are going to be out of town. 3. It's passover, and alot of people here in L.A. are jewish, and won't come out. 4. It's the tale end of tax season. today is the 14th. tomorrow is the deadline to turn in your taxes.

so yeah, I don't expect to make assloads of cash but I do expect at least 150-200. If I leave with less, it will be my own fault.

Everyone has until the 17th this year to get their taxes done. This is because the 15th is a Saturday, and the government buracracy doesn't work weekends.

I don't put much into religious holidays as having an effect on earnings one way or another. I mean, if a person is really that devoutly religious, then he/she probably isn't in the strip club in the first place, right? If you are a hippocrite, then what difference does a calander date make?

The real issue this week is going to be the taxes people have to pay. That will effect our earnings hugely, as it does every year.

while I agree, I think that religious or not, alot of guys take holiday weekends out to spend time with thier families. that's what I've noticed in L.A. at the clubs I've worked at anyway.

it seems to me that god, (the christian one since we are talking about easter), wouldn't be any more or less offended on a religious holiday than any other day out of the year if he considers our work sinful. just my 2 cents.

At the risk of sounding like a total weirdo/fanatic/crazy stripper/religious freak...

    b a c k g r o u n d

Throughout the past few years, I had drifted further and further away from spirituality. I was working long hours at an office job, commuting for a couple of hours every day, and spending my weekends catching up on chores and housework. On top of the fact that I was mentally strained, my body was also paying the price of sitting all day long. I had gained roughly 20 pounds and, even though I knew I was out of shape, I just couldn't work up the motivation to get to the gym. My relationship with my husband was also under a lot of pressure because I was too tired for fun things, including sex.

Fast forward to January 2005... I left my full-time job on great terms and went back to working out of my home doing freelance Web design. My former employer became my biggest client and I had a contract with them through June of that year. Everything started off full speed ahead and I was satisfied with my income and loved the fact that I could work from home. I took on more clients and the workload piled up (but my income didn't grow as quickly). After 6 months of "captivity" working 14 hour days sitting on my ass in front of a glowing monitor, I became increasingly unhappy. I had been holed up in my home office with little to no contact with the outside world for half a year and my body and soul were paying the price. To top it all off, my husband had been in a car accident that Summer and I was paying all of the bills.

    b l e s s i n g s i n d i s g u i s e

In July, everything fell apart. My 6-month contract had ended and I was so burnt out from sitting in front of the computer that I didn't even bother to re-up or try and find new clients to fill the gaps (even though people were knocking on my door, I turned down a lot of business). I was miserable and feeling guilty for giving up - and my financial situation was only getting worse. By the end of July, I turned to the only other thing I knew that would allow me to make the kind of money I needed to pay my burdening bills - stripping.

    t u r n i n g p o i n t

Because of my weight gain, I couldn't start dancing at one of the better clubs in Las Vegas, so I started off at a small, but very nice, club. Just as I had done with the Web design, I dove in head first and began stripping 4-5 days a week. After just a month of dancing, my body was tightening up (I lost about 15 pounds in the first month and a half), my bills were getting paid, and I was actually having fun at my job. I eventually moved to one of the larger and fancier clubs in Las Vegas, which allowed me to break my income plateau. I took the DancerWealth course in December and I continued developing my skills and progressing through the end of the year. By December, I was able to save up enough to pay cash for my new boobies. I took off the entire month of January to allow myself to heal. I spent a lot of time relaxing and I also visited family that I had not seen in years.

    t h e a w a k e n i n g

Being away from dancing for an entire month only proved how much I really love this profession. The money, of course, is a huge draw. For me, the human aspect of the industry is the true icing on the cake. I love meeting new people, being able to make someone's night/vacation pleasant and memorable, or even being a confessional/psychologist of sorts. I also don't mind the physical contact because I feel that I draw energy (usually positive) from everyone I touch. In fact, I feel that my current occupation/role in life is the most God-like thing I've ever done.

    G o d * i s a G o o d S t r i p p e r

    * I use the term "God" loosely. To me, it is a short and universal term for any spiritual higher power.

In case you didn't read above... Being a stripper is truly the most God-like thing I've ever done. I am spreading love and happiness to handfuls of people on a nightly basis and I think God sees that this is my sincere intention. I am consistently rewarded spiritually, intellectually, and financially - and I feel that God is working with me to make this happen. I subscribe to the belief that God is our creator, and that we are absolute perfect creations. God would not want us to be ashamed of our bodies or our sexuality. Why would God make us beautiful sexual creatures and expect us to deny these gifts? Wouldn't you be offended if you gave someone a beautiful gift that you made yourself and you were so proud of and they locked it up in a closet all boxed up and hidden?

God = Love As long as you have love in your heart and your intentions are aligned with love, you will make God smile upon you - no matter what your occupation is.

THE PROBLEM ...with some/many/most strippers is that their intentions are not aligned with love or God. Instead, money, drugs, and other lower entities take the place of God. These "lower powers" create negative energy, which attracts even more negative energy and creates a downward spiral.

You = Love = God The good news is that you can be one of the lucky strippers who radiates love, kindness, and happiness. By doing this, you will attract more positive energy and your aura will grow larger and stronger with love and protect you from the lower energy that you will often encounter in the strip club environment. In fact, as you become stronger in your love and closer to God, you will find yourself reversing the negative energy of others. This is not only empowering, but also extremely rewarding.

How Can I Do This? I have always felt that people should take the time to find their own path to God and spirituality. Don't let anyone else tell you what or how to believe or how to pratice your faith. Figure it out for yourself - you may find it in organized religion, or you may find it somewhere else. You may even find it in a strip club.

Nope, I definitely don't work on religious holidays. I haven't been to church in a several months but that doesn't make me feel guilty. I still have the same beliefs.

I worked last year, very little girls so we all did good. The guys came in anyway. I work all the traditional holidays on purpose and it had always worked out well. I also worked on tax day last year and it was just like any other day.

Well, Daisey, it's a little unusual, and I wonder how you can maintain such a great attitude in this business--but you might just be the perfect stripper, lol...

I'm sure your customers love you!

I think if a God exists, and he/she/it created us, or cares what we are doing (unlikely in my mind, but whatever), he/she/it would want us to enjoy our sexuality, for sure--especially in the way you describe.

I did wind up working tonight, even though I had told them to let me rest a while and give me one slower night a week for a couple weeks at least.

But the new cocky DJ gunning for top man status, named "Dirty", fucked up tonight and called me since he was sick--without telling the manager, a couple hours into his shift.

It was very slow last night even with some of the better dancers, I had stopped in for a while to see how he was doing. So tonight when I got there and saw we had the worst of all of them, and not very many, and not many customers, I was like "Oh shit..."

But it turned into a pretty damned good night, so I was happy, especially considering I didn't want to be there at all, at first, lol...

I hope the rest of you out there do well, too, this weekend.
