I fucking hate people who bitch about how they're victims of racism and/or prejudice, but do the exact same thing to others. I became aware of this when I was 11 years old in the 6th grade. This one kid in my art class would call me Jap, Chink, Gook, slant-eye, yellow, dog-eater, immigrant, etc every day and tell me and tell me to go back to my country (I'm a fucking US citizen and half American). One day, I told him that those were racial slurs, and that him calling me those names were the equivilent of me calling him a n**ger, hoping to put things into perspective. He went apeshit and told everyone (I actually heard some kids saying, "Omigod, that Jap girl called Tony a n**ger,") which ended with me getting sent to the principal's office. He got in-school suspension and I got off b/c the principal was a lot more reasonable than most of the staff. I got called racial slurs every day in most of my classes in plain hearing range of the teachers, who did nothing or even laughed! Yet, if the N-word had been uttered, heads would have rolled. I don't fucking get it. Why are some racial slurs more taboo than others, and why do some people do the same to others as they claim others are doing to them?
A simiar situation occurred at the nursing home that I recently quit. I realized that a lot of the problems I had were race-related when I was working my ass off to get the trays passed out while a couple other nursing assistants and the nurse on duty were sitting there, paging through the latest Mary Kay catalogue. I asked for some help, and one particularly nasty girl smirked, "I know this scrawny little whitey isn't trying to act like she's boss." The nurse laughed. I later reported her to the Assistant Director of Nursing, who laughed at me and told me that I was lazy and would have to gain her trust. These same people often complained about the only white nurse who would report them for laziness and bad behavior (rightfully, so, I saw some horrific neglect at the nursing home), claiming that she was racist and a tattletale. How ironic.
I am not racist. I've dated black, white, Hispanic, and Asian guys, and Middle Eastern guys, and my friends are all colors of the rainbow, but unlike SOME PEOPLE, I would never put them through what I've been put through.

Seriously take no offense, I just wanted to point out that that sentence didn't make your point. YOU made your point.
