Default we're killing the kids, anyone seen this show?

i was just curious if i'm the only nutty one here. i watched this show last week & again this week; "Honey,we're killing the kids". what strikes me the most isn't just how damn unhealthy these kids are (eating fried food or just dounuts) but how f*cking spoild the are!

i'm only 26 so when i say the phrase "when i was a kid" it wasn't so long ago. if i ever threw a tantrum over a tv time limit my mom would have beaten the crap out of me. let alone not eating dinner at the table with the family or playing video games all the time (we had an atari that we'd break out once a year for about a week at a time, i just recently got a playstation 2), and even as an adult i have only one tv, i wouldn't think of putting one in my 8 year old's room. actualy, now that i think of it; my mom would have beaten the crap out of me for just about everything these kids are doing

of couse the tv show is based off high drama anyway...the parents are shown aged pics of what their kids will look like in a room that i'm waiting to hear a survivor style announcement in..."you're off the island!! bad parent!"

It's unfortunate, but it seems like way too many people let thier kids run the show. There is no excuse (outside of a serious hormonal/glandular imbalance) for a child to be obese. It makes me sad...

omg, little kids are sooo out of shape it's rediculous. I had one little 4 yr old girl..skinny little girl...i was 4 months pregnant and she was complaining that her legs were hurting! and she was tired! you'd be absolutely amazed at how out of shape kids are. After owning that biz for a few years, i've never looked at kids the same...i'm still SHOCKED at how many I see that are overweight. it's soooo sad

Not sure if this is now a show with American families, but it has been on British TV for a couple of years now. I do agree with the premise that the way children are raised makes for a profound effect on how children grow up. But I do think the whole "here's how your kids will turn out if they stay on this path" computerized progression is, while effective, an overdone TV gimmick.

The other problem is that they've turned just the computerized progression part into spinoff series along the lines of "who'll end up uglier" between partners in a couple, or exes, or whatever pairing you want. And at that point, the true message gets lost.

    Well said.

The basic premise of the show is great--we're a nation where half of us are fat fucks with no desire to take any of that responsibility on ourselves.
