    Default being prepared

i just emailed a few clubs, and am waiting for responses. I have that horrible gut feeling cause im so anxious and worried and all that crap. I dont have any auditions or anything yet, but i think im gonna do awesome. ive been thinking about making this choice for a while. and things look pretty good. im more worried about myself not being mentally ready not so much physically ready. but ive made up my mind!

the newbie faqs pretty much answered all my questions, but it said keep a "well stocked toiletry bag" along with costumes and stuff, but i was wondering if theres a small list of things you always make sure to keep in your bag.

and for makeup? bodywise. should i find something in like a dance shop or can i just go with normal moisturizer? and im superpale, if that helps at all.

Tampons, babywipes, hand sanatiser, body lotion(none oily stuff), a faint scented perfume, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouth rinse, gum, makeup, advil, deoderant... just for a start.

If your pale I suggest hitting up a tanning salon to get a base tan, if you dont want to keep tanning then use a self tanner. Unless your a red head(rhia is a perfect example of acceptable pale... no offence is intended there rhia I was stating its hot on you) pale doesnt look right.... last thing you want is to be glowing under the black lights

    Good luck!

Oh also hairspray, a hair brush, elastics, bobbypins, any medications you may need.

Then the obvious like your ID and costumes.

Also babypowder comes in handy for sweaty feet

Do a search in Body Buisness... you can dance on your period, just tuck the string inside you if you dance nude. Make sure to have lots of extra tampons, I change mine more often then normal when im at work so im not worrying about leaks. And make sure that string is really tucked in, speshly if you dance nude.

If your dancing topless, just a nice bikini or a nice thong and top work fine for work. Find an outfit that portrays your personality. You dont want to go overboard speshly when your first starting out. Themed outfits are usually left for feature dancers. Most house girls just dance in a simple outfit. Once your more experianced you might start matching your outfits to the type of music you dance to. Im bad for this one lol. As you gain experiance you will catch on to things that work best for you.

The biggest thing for me is to ALWAYS have some sort of headache medicine! It is the worst feeling in the world to have a huge headache (and have to listen to loud music and dance) and no medicine... and somehow everyone else has run out to so you can't even borrow some from somebody! What else.... everything that was mentioned above.

I always make sure I have what everyone else mentioned, plus pills for heartburn, sinus pills, advil, nail glue (I wear fake glue on nails, so I also make sure I bring the nails that are left over in the box in case one pops off and I can't find it), mints, hair shine serum, eye drops (it gets really smoky in the club when it's busy). That's all I can think of right now. Just bring along basic things that you might possibly need during the night. When you're new, it's not a great idea to have to borrow things from others.
Take the road less traveled- just make sure you have a map.

Just to add that even with topless clubs I find it useful to trim the tampon string, because you definitely do not want it hanging out of your thong.

I can't speak for everyone, but I don't typically use makeup on my body, if that's what you're asking. I'd say a nice tan does a much better job disguising bruises than makeup, because makeup can wear off over the course of the night, especially because it can get hot underneath the lights when you're onstage. I use BeneFit's Bathina body silkener religiously- it works like lotion but it's solid so it's not as greasy, and it does a great job of evening out my skin and making it look pretty while softening it, too.
As for your face, I would definitely recommend more makeup than one would wear during the day. Clubs are usually pretty dark so it can accentuate your features better, and when you're on stage the lights can wash you out- so it works for both reasons. Plus, at least in my opinion- taking the time to vamp myself out a little bit helps me "step into the part" a bit more. I personally love fake eyelashes- but not the ones that are too distracting or come in crazy colors or outrageous lengths- just ones that add the finishing touches to my look.
The girls above pretty much covered it with supplies- I live by baby wipes- they fix everything! Oh, and I don't know how dancers typically hold onto their money at your club, but at every club I've worked at/visited, most carry little purses or something to keep their money with them throughout the night. I have several that I switch around depending on my outfit.
Search the forums for info on periods- there's a lot of great advice. I recommend cutting the string just in case- I work at a full nude club and my period has never stopped me from working. I use super OB tampons and cut the string, and it's never been a problem.
    Good luck!
