"The Notorious Bette Page" is (or will be) playing at a theatre near you.
(Not me, of course -- you either have to wait for the DVD or leave this Mill-Town Melt-Down and to go to Boston to see any film which MIGHT appeal to someone with more than a single-digit IQ.)
She may not have been as famous as Marilyn Monroe, but Page was the REAL DEAL when it comes to 1950's sex icons. She was intelligent, daring and uninhibited, a little campy and vampy but always classy, even in her bondage photos. The film got a positive, B+ review from Entertainment Weekly's Owen Glieberman (April 21). (At the very least, it's GOTTA be better than that Joe Esterhaz piece o' crap "Showgirls," right?)
Many of the dancers who post here sound like they have the smarts and the life experience to appreciate and/or pick apart this film, and I'd be happy to read your thoughts.Thanks.

Thanks.
