I've been proposing this idea for some time, but haven't gotten off my tail to do it and was wondering if anyone would be interested in some cards and chat. If you suck at poker, don't worry, there won't be any actual gambling involved, just play money. I'm figuring some of you going out to Vegas next month for Stripperfest might want some practice before you do it for real.
What may be kind of a sticking point here is which online poker room to use. I know a number of folks here are on Macs, and to my knowledge there is only one "no download required" room whose software will work on a Mac. The others are run on a Windows app you have to download. I would like to use the following room, simply because its the largest, and a number of folks here may have an account there already.

The .net site is strictly play money only, the .com site has both play money and real money tables, but from what I'm told the application download from either site will hook you up to the same tables, so if you're on one, you don't need to download the other (they only let you have one account anyway). On the .com site I believe there are actually play money tournaments called "freerolls" where you actually can win real money (of course you have to make the top 10 out of a field of thousands to do it).
For those who have never been on these sites, there are little chat boxes right there in the GUI where we can chat with each other while we play. Just don't talk about what cards you're holding.
If anyone is interested, simply reply here with what nights/times would work for you, and what room you would like to use (if any preference). Also if those of you on Macs are interested, please say so. If we have enough Mac people, we might go here.

And nothing says that we're relegated to one room.
Also state if you have a specific game preference. I know Texas Hold'em will be the most popular, but please state which type of betting structure you prefer (as in fixed limit, pot limit, or no limit), and if you prefer ring games or tournaments. It will be a lot easier to get everyone into a ring game.
