    Default THE 2nd DANCER SPEAKS!!!

I don't know what to think about this woman. She definitely doesn't help the case.

    http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/LegalCe...ory?id=1869877

Roberts, 31, was arrested on March 22 eight days after the party on a probation violation from a 2001 conviction for embezzling $25,000 from a photofinishing company in Durham where she was a payroll specialist, according to documents obtained by the AP. On Monday, the same day a grand jury indicted lacrosse players Reade Seligmann and Collin Finnerty, a judge agreed to a change so that Roberts would no longer have to pay a 15 percent fee to a bonding agent. District Attorney Mike Nifong signed a document saying he would not oppose the change. "It seems she is receiving very favorable financial treatment for what she is now saying," Thomas said…

    SNIP

Although she would not talk extensively about the party, she confirmed some of what the other dancer told police including that the women initially left the party after one of the players threatened to sodomize the women with a broomstick.

    SNIP

The cabbie, Moez Mostafa, also said he saw a woman leaving the party in anger, and overheard someone say, "She just a stripper. She's going to call the police."

    SNIP
Also Thursday, 5W Public Relations, a New York firm that specializes in "crisis communication," distributed an e-mail signed "The 2nd Dancer," and Roberts confirmed she sent it after learning the AP knew her identity.
"I've found myself in the center of one of the biggest stories in the country," she wrote. "I'm worried about letting this opportunity pass me by without making the best of it and was wondering if you had any advice as to how to spin this to my advantage."
Roberts, like the accuser a divorced single mother who is black, took umbrage at the notion that she should not try to make something out of her experience. She's worried that once her name and criminal record are public, no one will want to hire her.
"Why shouldn't I profit from it?" she asked. "I didn't ask to be in this position … I would like to feed my daughter."
    SNIP

"If the boys are innocent, sorry fellas," she said. "Sorry you had to go through this."
But unlike her and the other dancer, she said, they have money to hire the best attorneys.
"If they're innocent, they will not go to jail," she said. But, she added, "If the truth is on their side, why are they supporting it with so many lies?"
    SNIP

Roberts is bracing for an all-out attack, but said she's almost past caring.
"Don't forget that they called me a damn nigger," she said. "She (the accuser) was passed out in the car. She doesn't know what she was called. I was called that. I can never forget that."

Every time I read one of these articles I am finding myself doubting "her" (the victim) story.

Of course I am not saying she wasn't raped but there are so many inconsistencies, and just flat out unbelievable actions on the women's part.

This 2nd woman is saying the man talked them into coming back in after apologizing, not because they left a shoe, and she also states the victim was NOT drunk when they arrived but was so wasted when they left she passed out in the car.

I cannot fathom 2 women (not girls) being threatened with sodomy with a broomstick, and ratial slurs saying "oh what the hell a couple of guys apologized let's go back in and hope for the best." (not a quote)

If she really was sober when they arrived when did she have the time to get so drunk?

she could have been drugged, and as for the returning to the party, you must never have put up with an awful customer for the money, which makes you unique among all dancers.

^^^You're right Mia. I have put up with some rotten shit from a custormer (in the club) for money before. There are conflicting reports about what happened, and I can't help but think that contradictory accounts are put out there on purpose. But Miss Thang up here (Kim Roberts) is making dancers and sistahs look bad...

(Snip) Just moments after she and another exotic dancer started to perform, she said, men in the house started barking racial slurs. The two women, both black, stopped dancing. "We started to cry," she said. "We were so scared."

(snip) "When I was outside, one guy yelled at her, '... Thank your grandpa for my cotton shirt"
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have I put up with shit from customers sure, but in the club where there are bouncers, managers and even customers who completely have my back if I would happen to need it.
In this particular case we are not talking some guy trying to cop a feel, or some other nonsense.

I am not black but I cannot imagine any of my black friends putting up with anyone anywhere calling them a "damn nigger" or any other racial slur and still dance for the money.

For instance let's turn the table; I can 100% gaurantee if a man calls me a cunt and threatens to rape me with a broom stick no amount of money would bring me back to that man!

Just to be clear I have not said she was not raped. I am still waiting for all to come out, however the more info that is released the worse it looks IMHO.

It appears we must face the possibility that these aren't the most virtuous women--which won't lessen the shocking and disgusting nature of what they undoubtably went through, even if they weren't raped (and of course it was much, much worse if they were).

What's really fucked up about all this is that at this point the publicity is doing our industry no good whatsoever.

The boys were swine, no doubt about that, and swine who deserve to be strung up by their testicles and pelted with stripper shoes and cellphones, before their testicles are removed--if they raped the dancers. If they didn't, maybe they could keep them attached.

The dancers appear to be less than prudent for going back in there, no matter how justly aggrieved they might be.

It's this kind of situation and group male attitude that made me fail to hesitate a single second when a serious girlfriend of mine had a bouncer try to talk her into doing private parties, with him as paid security. No fucking way did I want to think about her being in a situation even remotely close to it.

I realize that there are many dancers who regularly do private parties, and have no problem whatsoever, since they are prudent about who they do them for, and what kind of protection they have. More power to them, but I think it requires a lot more forethought than the accusers showed that night.

i have worked, we all have worked with plenty of dancers who for whatever reason good or bad needed the money and felt they had to just put up with whatever. i really feel that strippers of all people should understand that kind of conflict and pressure and not get judgmental and call the strippers WHO WERE ATTACKED names. the fratboys are far worse than anything the girls say or do, honestly, and i don't see how anyone would want to believe otherwise.

Let's not forget this second dancer did have her past dragged out into the media prior to her seeking advice from that firm. That happened even though she did not make any other claim except that the players were screaming racial slurs at her. A neighbor backed up that claim too.

What was the point of dragging her past out prior to any arrests of players or trail ? Especially since she didn't even corraborate that the rape did or did not occur. She has always said that she was not in that bathroom and that meant she didn't know what happened in there.

Let's not forget that there are very wealthy people trying very hard to minimize their embarassment.

Not much would surprise me at this point, as far as bad shit surfacing about these women.

And let me make this perfectly clear--I work with women who are without question every bit as bad as these two are being made to appear, and some who are no doubt much worse.

Not one of them deserves to be raped, or called "N-----", or threatened. Not one.

And though I'd hesitate at taking on 37 lacrosse players, I'd fight anyone who tried it with any of them.

It was brought out because they think she was the one that made the phone call to police saying the guys in the house were yelling at other women walking by (the caller purported to be someone else, not the 2nd dancer).

It's impossible to know 100% what happened, but with all that's coming out, I can't imagine those guys being convicted. It's just not going to happen.

    My Mood
    Confused

Default Re: THE 2nd DANCER SPEAKS!!!

at this point its all hearsay and we won't really know the truth. all we can do is wait and pray justice is done. its a shame this stuff happens to people but all we can do is hope someone is telling the truth. i'm sure the media just loves to drag dancers through the mud for their own personal pleasure, but i think its a bigger crime to lie. ruining someone is worse than doing it. both parties have to live with the lie, then if the truth comes out its just the same as actually doing it to the person. thats just my view. i can't take the news seriously right now, just the court.

Even the court can't always be taken seriously, except as a travesty of Justice...

Look at how easily that other rich jock got off--O.J.

I doubt we will see any convictions--except the increased conviction in the public eye that strippers aren't to be trusted, and get what they deserve.

Not that I am convinced beyond any doubt that a rape took place--but something terrible happened without question that night, just from hearing even the most favorable (to the lacrosse team) reports.

This sucks all the way round.

That's the point of the articles.

The lawyers are giving bits and pieces of their choosing to the media. They are choosing the context of the information too. What may actually be the evidence and what they are saying it is could very well be different things.

The goal is to try and create of sense reasonable doubt prior to the trial even beginning. It's a tactic used by most high profile attorneys. Especially defense attorneys. Eventually both sides do it but usually it's the defense that starts first for obvious reasons.

Although like most people I am eating up the media coverage with a spoon, I think it should be against the law to try cases in the media prior to a court room.

I'd prefer to get the coverage on a court case starting at the time of the trial and continue in real time rather than before anyone goes to trial. Or worse yet before anyone even gets charged or arrested !

Is it possible that both dancers could have been victums of their employers FIRST?

I'm thinking that the agency that sent them on this job may have threatened them with suspention or firing if they refused the show. So they went out there and gave it their best shot in order to keep their jobs. Dancers are constantly threatened by management for calling off or going home sick, so why would a private party be any different?

Also, if the dancer who was raped was a non drinker, a couple of shots of Jagger or other hard alcohol could do her in quickly. Especially if she hadn't eaten in a while.

My opinion is that they were harmed twice over, first by their agency and second by the rapists.

^^^That's interesting, Paris. Why would they throw the girls to the wolves like that w/o security? Is it confirmed that they worked for an agency or they went on thier own? I"m thinking agency b/c the dancer who is trying to "benefit" from the situation (gag) says she didn't know the victim very well. Hmm...
