I'm jealous! I wanna see it! We won't go to the theater though, we'll wait for the DVD. I had no idea it was based on a video game until afx told me.

They have one of those huge bus-stop posters in my neighborhood, with the girl who has a patch of blank skin and no mouth. Someone got a big goofy Cheshire-cat grin sticker and put it on the ad where her mouth ought to be. And then someone blacked out one of the front teeth. It looks hilarious.

I'll try to remember the next time I walk that way. You see little acts of creative vandalism like that all the time around here... I love this neighborhood. I've been here for two years and I go for a long walk almost every day, and I always see something new and interesting.

We went to see this today. Parts are very good, others not so much. Plus I have some questions! There were holes in the story and things that don't make sense to me. Do you understand it all Deogol? Maybe you could answer my questions? Thanks!

Most of the holes mean there is going to be a part 2 and a part 3. Part 2 should be more about the husband's quest to find his wife. It is pretty obvious at the end if 1 that she is still in the demon's grip and he hasn't given up. Part 3 should be about the girl's fate.

It scared me. It felt like I was watching a nightmare on film. I love to be scared (in a controlled environment) and thats why I go to scary movies.
The end didnt make sense to me at 1st but then it was like 2 different places so it did. Trying not to give away too much.

I admit there were quite a few spots where I had to cover my eyes. Evil things that I can't shoot dead are very scary to me!

Is this actually thrilling, or just disgusting and horrible? My friend loves horror movies so I went with him to The Hills Have Eyes. That was weeks ago and I still wish I hadn't gone. I REALLY wish I hadn't seen that movie. It was just senseless, endless, horrifying brutality and sickness, for no damn reason. I hate those movies.

Here are the SH plotlines so far. Beware of spoilers!

SH1: Harry Mason and his wife found Cheryl on the side of the road when she was a baby and adopted her, his wife died later. Harry and Cheryl decide to take a trip to SH. They see a girl in the road, and Harry swipes off the road to avoid hitting her. When he awakes, Cheryl is not there, and there are monsters and an alternate world. A religious fanatic named Dahlia Gillespie tells Harry that the vengeful spirit Alessa has taken his daughter, and sends him off with spiritual weapons. However, whis is nothing but a trick to get Harry to find Alessa for her own means.

It turns out that Alessa was born to bring the cult god, and was burned in a fire by her own mother to being out the power. To prevent this, Alessa separated her soul into two, putting one half into the form of a baby who was later found by Harry and his wife. Without the full soul, the god could not be awoken for the cult's devious means. Alessa was badly burned to where she should have died, but stayed alive for 7 years, escaping into her nightmares to hide from the cult. The cult had been around for some time, and the evil gods' powers leaked into Silent Hill, creating the hellish alternate universe. However, Cheryl came back to Silent Hill, and was taken by the cult. With Alessa and Cheryl rejoined, the god was born and exorcised from Alessa/Cheryl. Harry killed the god, and Alessa thanked him, giving him a baby and told him to escape from Silent Hill. This is the confirmed ending, as proven with SH3.

SH2: I'll do this later when I remember the plot.

SH3: This game follows the escape ending of SH1.
Heather Morris is out shopping one day when she is approached by a detective named Douglas Cartland who tells her that somebody wants to help her find out about her past. She thinks that he's creepy and escapes through the bathroom window, soon finding herself in the creepy alternate world. A wierdo named Claudia tells her that she is the mother of the god who will bring about the end of this world and a beginning of paradise. Claudia makes Heather endure the hellish world and become hateful by slaughtering monsters and enduring the hell of the altenate world, which awakens and nurtures the god inside Heather's womb. Claudia even murders Heather's father to make her angry enough to bring about the god. Douglas turns his back on his original assignment upon knowing his client's ulterior motif and takes Cheryl to Silent Hill, which Claudia told them to do.

It is revealed that Heather is the baby that Alessa gave Harry and that he escaped from Silent Hill with her. He named her Cheryl also, wondering if this was the same Cheryl or a demon. Nevertheless, he loved her as his own. A few years after he escaped Silent Hill with the baby, a cult member came and tried to kidnap Cheryl in order to bring about the birth of the god. Harry shot the cult member and went into hiding, renaming his child Heather Morris and ordering her to dye her hair blonde. A few years later, Douglas Cartland was hired to find Heather.

Heather goes to Silent Hill to investigate and seek revenge on Claudia, and learns about the cult. She regains memories of herself as Cheryl, Cheryl II, and Alessa. She remembers that back in her days as Alessa, an unhappy, abused child in the cult, hearing about the god bringing salvation through purging the earth. She believed that this would be the answer to her unhappiness. However, as Cheryl and Heather, she learned the goodness of this world thanks to her father's love, and states that she does not want to birth the god.

At the end, Heather takes a pill that her father gave her (exorcism in a pill), vomits up the fetus of the god, which Claudia swallows in order to birth. This turns Claudia into a monster/god hybrid, which Heather kills. After the fight, Heather assumes her old name, Cheryl Mason, since the god has been vanquished there is no more reason to hide.

    There's the connection between 1 and 2. I'll write about 2 and 4 later.

I really liked this movie but couldn't watch some of the really gory parts. Did you know that the makers of Silent Hill based this off a real town in PA called Centralia? Has anyone ever heard of it or been there?
