    Default House Fee Raised

Any advise would be helpful :
All the clubs on Bourbon Street have raised there house fees since the Hurricane
The buisness is Slower than usual ,no conventions ,no tourist ,nobody is in town
except the migrant workers which don't have any money & want to have sex for
$1.00 Also, 4 new clubs have oppened(that are dumps). Its crazy ,I can't belive the nerve of the owners , most of us have lost everything & were unable 2 recieve any benifits because of our jobs.
So now we are dealing with too many dancers ,too many clubs ,& no money
& extremely high house fees .
I am thinking of publishing an article in the newspaper describing the situation & how much each club makes & charges to work .

Well don't do it right now. Current events have turned a serious tide against dancers. It seems like every where I turn, some one is talking about how terrible strippers are...

I think if the article is well written and explains that we're just normal people,it will be OK.I live down here in New Orleans and I know EXACTLY how you feel,Mojo.Which club are you working currently???You can PM me this if you wish.

Mmmm. I cant say I really blame them for it. Its gonna be tough to rebuild and get back to what was. Are other businesses doing similar things to gain money? Boost prices? Ok so I'm not there and I dont see how bad off the businesses are, but IMHO, I'm not surprised by a hike in the fees.

yeah, the clubs are going to have to make up for lost money somehow. my last club has been making changes since december and they have raised the club prices to pay for the renovations and such, raising door fees, adding new vip charges, things like that. its makes us as dancers suffer because the people in this town are the same people that have been coming for 12 years with the same budget, but are now having to spend more on club costs and less on dancers. when we hear "so i'm from out of town" from a guy we jump on them. its pretty funny but i'm getting off topic, any who the club has to make up for the damages done and the money they have lost having to be shut down and losing the business they once had. less people are going there to spend money so they have to make up for it some how. it sucks but its business. i really hope things get better for you soon. could it be possible for you to travel an hour or so north? if you can i would suggest doing so. just getting out of that county might make a big difference for you.

It's standard strip club procedure: When business gets slow, charge the girls more to make up for the decreased bar sales. That is only a sign that things are about to get a whole lot worse before it gets any better - IF it gets better. I'd be making tracks to another city if I were you!

yah, that sucks, the club owners don't care. they just want to make up for THERE loss and charge the dancers an arm and a leg.

Definitely write the article. I've written several and can proof it for you, if you like.

As for the migrant workers who want to have sex for a dollar... welcome to Los Angeles!

I have never worked at a club that charges house fees. How does that work? You pay a certain amount to work but you still have to tipout dj and bartenders? We tip 10% dj and 5% to bartenders and that's it. They don't know how much money we make so some girls don't tip the whole percentage.
