Lightbulb Columbine copycat averted, thanks to MySpace

And while I've ripped on that website, I guess I have to concede it has some commendable purpose after all.

You read this story, and you wonder what could have happened had someone not taken this seriously.

I saw this on the news on 4/20. I'm glad they caught them before they were able to carry out their plans.

I agree though--MySpace seems to have its good points. So far, it has been a useful tool in catching pedophiles, capturing rapists and would-be rapists, and foiling plots like this. Could be a good thing afterall.

Wow! Sickos. Yea MySpace has it's better moments i guess. But i could not handle the crap anymore from people who actually do scare you. Especially when they are very close to your home town. All i had was Florida in my profile. My close friends new i lived here, but a few others seem to know who you are by seeing you out and about....i took my page down. Done. Can be scary crap.

I heard about this, too. At least they didn't actually carry it out!

Shew, lucky catch. I received a death threat via Myspace the other day myself. I had a new message, and it was from the girlfriend of a girl I knew in highschool who kissed me n January. I didn't know the girl who kissed me had a g/f until after she kissed me. I haven't spoken to the girl since January and all of a sudden I get a message from her g/f saying how I've fucked up her relationship enough, I need to stop talking to her g/f or she'll kill me. Lovely girl. Smart one too, seeing as how I e-mailed that little letter to the police back home.

Man, teens are so stupid. They brag about how badass they are to their friends and wonder why they get caught. My friend's little bro was just caught smoking weed. He was in his car, parked in the state troopers' parking lot!
