I got fired yesterday from the club I've worked at for the past seven months. I've been working at another (much better) club for a few weeks, so it's not exactly a disaster. I am irritated, though.
Supposedly, the reason I was fired was because I don't work enough shifts per week. The reason I don't work more is that the club only hired me for dayshifts and I have another job during the week, so I can only work Friday and Saturday afternoons. I've been begging the general manager for months to switch me to nights so I can work more shifts, and he keeps telling me that dayshift doesn't have enough girls and can't afford to lose any. I finally gave up and applied to work nights at another club owned by the same people. I've been working nights up there during the week and Friday and Saturday afternoons at the old club.
I really tried to stay calm and explain all this to the manager. I happen to know that the club is desperate for dancers on both day and night shifts, so it seemed to me that switching me to nights and letting me work more shifts was a happy ending for everybody. But he just started yelling at me and telling me that working one or two days a week was "great" for me "but it doesn't pay my bills." Which is wierd because if he hasn't noticed, I pay the freakin' club every time I work there. I tip everybody out generously and never make any trouble. I have many regulars who come in on the days I work just to see me. But it's a clique-y place and I've never really kissed enough ass to be tight with management there.
Oh, well. Just wanted to vent. I hate being treated like a dumb, disposable bimbo. Maybe this should have gone in the "managers are idiots" thread. Hell yeah they are.

But it seems that when they're desperate for girls is exactly when they treat them worse. Talk about stoopid
