Default Employers are checking you out on MySpace

I found this interesting to know that prospective and current employers are checking out their people on myspace to see who they are when not at work. If a person is interviewing for a job and the employer checks him/her out on myspace, and there is some reference on your page that you would rather your employer not know, I recommend that you remove it!

I guess us strippers have it pretty good, as we already are on the fringe of society, but so many girls list their occupation on myspace as "Exotic dancer" when in fact they are not. What if their employer has the ability to fire him/her for unbecoming conduct? It has happened before to people I know (getting too drunk and loud out at a night club where the boss's brother was also hanging out).

That's why I changed my Myspace. It got a complete overhaul. Only 3 pics, none of me. My occupation is listed as "student". And my page says only "Arizona"

Well, when you create your MySpace account, if you create an email account just for it that no one else knows, and you dont use your real name, then nobody can find you on a search. Then when you make your profile, you dont use your name for it and you dont put in any real info, not even location. Then to make things even more private, dont put any pictures in your profile either. Put pictures in your blog, and set your blog to where the only ones who can view it are those on your friends list. It's not that difficult to keep yourself anonymous while still maintaining a presence on there.

I think I'm going to change my account so my real name is not searchable. I'm more worried about my brother seeing it than anyone I work with. His opinion actually matters to me.

i like myspace. but now that im taking steps to actually start dancing i think im gonna change some thing. only privacy settings really. i just dont want anyone to find out where i live. everything else i have up there is there for everyone to see. even the pictures from my birthday weekend and me and my friend dressed in wedding dresses and were totally sloshed. its so awesome! i work at a davids bridal and when they have some stuff on the floor for too long they have to mark it as old stock and throw it away. they just put them in garbage bags and threw them away. so you bet your ass i went back there after work and ganked all of them!!! i got 5 wedding dresses now! one of which i plan to make my own eventually but the rest are up for whatever. i want to sell them but i have too much fun with them! i love dressing up! i have tinkerbell, a bumblebee, and then just a bunch of random pieces. i have a tiara too! i think itd be awesome to dance with a tiara! thats like ultimate bling!

its a bad idea to post when im stoned. sorry bout that.

So what is the point of even having an account? Couldn't you just have an email list so that you can contact all your friends and vice versa?

im gonna make up another account for my work personality, and then keep the one for my real life. i think id put the same things on each one, just not make a mention of work in my real life profile. i dont really see why it wouldnt work. i think itd be great, cause theres certain things i want to talk about with work people but dont want to with real life people. nah mean?

My friends and I actually use our blogs and keep up on pictures that way and use the bulletins with each other. The idea is to make so if you come across my personal page, there really isnt anything that gives anyone a clue that it's me. Just kind of a vague profile, but we use all of the other features on it, with those we know.

I have two myspace accounts. None with my real name. One is where i add all my friends from high school, my family, and all other people i actually know in real life. The other site is for fans, people who dont know me. Theres really nothing to hide on either profile. I am never ashamed of anything i do. And if i was ashamed of it, it surely would not be up on the world wide web........you feal me?

Yes.. totally... except I do talk about my work to a certain extent on my personal profile...

    www.goldcoastgirl.com -- my personal profile/blog

www.goldcoastgirl.info -- my work (stripper me).

If I didn't want my .com profile linked with my .info profile... it wouldn't take much effort to do so.
