    Default Selling cars...

We're moving back to Alaska, which means we're selling my truck, my girlfriends car, and the house. My truck is almost sold (like, I have hand money, but it's not done yet... cross your fingers for me), but we've had her car in the newspaper and signs up all over about it and have only gotten a couple calls about it. She put it up on eBay (here), and only got one bid.

We have to sell it by May 15, and we have to sell it for enough to pay off the loan. She also refuses to do it in a way that involves "negative attention" (I was totally going to make up some crazy story to sell it on eBay). Any ideas?

Well, for starters, the photos are the size of postage stamps so there is no detail anywhere on the car that can be seen. I'm not sure what you were looking for in regards to a "crazy story" but you can certainly add more detail to the text of the ad to spice it up a bit but be honest in the ad too. Crazy stories have a tendency of backfiring (no pun intended) in ways you haven't thought of.

shoot. ever had sex in your car? I know that might be negative attention and you may not want to bring in your lover, but I'd make up some spicy story about how ya'all had sex in that car...might work.

or.....one night you picked up aliens, elvis, and/or bigfoot.

How much do you need for the car? I am a dealer. Also....get better pictures. In fact you should pose in one of the pictures....low cut jeans, and a bikini top does wonders for getting attention on eBay. I have sold about a half million dollars worth of cars on eBay.

Maybe I will just buy the car....let me know what you need.

As a last resort... call the bank. If you owe less than it is worth, you may be able to work something out where they take it, auction it, and use that to payoff the loan.

Well, I ran it through KBB ,Excellent: ~$7600,Good condition:~$6500
I would advise getting bigger pictures;many people assume when there are only tiny photos that something is wrong with the car. Also, Sunfires are like Cavaliers, very cheap with so-so reputations. Try leaving it on display near a high school. Those kind of cars are exactly what parents are looking for for their child's first car, and kids like them because they're cheap and easy to mod.
    Good luck!

Aww...I love my Cavalier! I've had it for 3 years and never had a major problem with it!

They're hit or miss, and the fact is the Sunfire and Cavalier are the same car, and their build quality isn't high. It's a cheap means of transportation, and unfortunately, not built very well, which has you running into reliability issues.

LOL, sorry I'm rambling. Automotives is the field I'm studying in school
