    Lightbulb Flattering Stage Lighting

Anyone got any recommendations for stage lighting that will flatter ANY figure??? (Plus colour palette?)
I heard pink red purple and blue are good on skin... is this true?

And what would be the best lighting for a private dance area - low enough to flatter and create ambience but bright enough to show up for the cctv?
At hip or shoulder height? from behind customer?

My club is a little too keen on strip lighting!

Me being a woman of color, my DJ can keep those blue/red lights...They make me look even darker than what I am when I'm on stage and tha'ts the LEAST that I want. When I get on stage, they do alot of bright white flashy lights. It brings attention and focus to me.

There are some girls at my club who strictly request dancing in blue light. Don't ask me why..

Blue light on a lighter skinned person hides all of the flaws and makes you look a little tanner.

    I hate green lights...ick.

There is 1 girl at my club who dances to blue lights. She dances to techno too. She does look leaner, now that you mention it..but she looks more white to me, not tan.

All red lights hide flaws too but look freaky. I think the best is blue lights mixed with red..and maybe for me a bit of yellow.

Hmmm...I'm trying to remember...I usually danced to red/blue lights...and I always looked more tan...but it may vary by person.

But you have some color to you ya know. This girl at work is really pale. So many if she was a little tan, it would make a difference. Hell, I dunno, I'm going to go nap now

Green lights in a strip club should be against the law. bah.

Black light is cool until you open up your mouth to smile. It made my teeth look freaky. I always tried to not smile when the black light was on.

A few girls told me that the red light enhanced cellulite but I don't think I believe that to be true...

Always go with blue and purple...NEVER with red. Red shows all.

Red shows cellulite even if you hardly have any. There is a club in Tampa that's not even a strip club and they have the podium dancers with red light shining up their ass and even the girls who are super skinny look like they have tons of cellulite. I think blue or black light is most flattering but maybe it depends on skin tone.

the only lighting that looks good on everyone is that "evening" lighting that mimics candle light. it's not very "showy" though, but it may be good for a lapdance area.

I actually really dig red lights, I think it flatters me (pale, thin, red hair) best. Blue lights are good too; but black lights are best in very small doses IMO. Some clubs around here are blacklight only and I would think it's hard to feel sexy when your teeth are glowing and your eyes look vampiric.

Red lights hide all stubble and all zits! They also make you look more tan. I can prove this by third party opinion: a man has complimented me on my tan -- if you want to see my actual skin tone, look in the "Fur babies" picture thread for a pic of me and my cat. :-) I'm about the color of cream cheese, lol.

They never seem to make me look more cellulite-y (and I do have bad thighs) but I hide the problem with tights anyway. Paris mentioned to me that they make stretch marks look worse, and that blue lights are better for girls with stretch marks (I have not seen this in action personally so can't give my own opinion on the topic of blue lights.)

I imagine that if you just had a brassy red bulb it might not work. It has to be a nice soft, warm red filter, as far as I can tell.

Hmm. I have never worked in a stripclub where i could request colours onstage - but it makes a lot of sense, especially for different skintones etc.

Someone once told me that blue is good because its almost the opposite of skin colour in the colour wheel which enhances instead of hides the tone. But this is the first time i've heard anyone say that dancers specifically ask for blue (in 6yrs of dancing!) thanks guys..

my fave lap dance room had a very soft red light....i spent most of the dances in there checking myself out lol it did wonders for my face and hair....well,i thought so
i heard that the red light district was called so beacuse of the red lights used to make the prostitutes look flattering. dunno who true it is...maybe back then the only colour bulb they had other then white was red? haha

the lights can make your skin look tanner? so should i worry so much about getting tanner, im pale enough my skin almost glows in the black light! haha! if i get a little bit of color to make me less white, the lights will do the rest? i kinda like being pale, i dont even think the tanned look is good on me anyway.

my boobs are natural and grew too fast for my liking, so i do have a few stretch marks. theyre not bad and have definitely faded alot, but the lights can help even more? awesome! maybe i will head out to keepers this week

I like Red lights for all of the above mentioned reasons. It's important to note that GREEN lights are fucking horrible. Green light highlights anything red colored in the skin. Sure it makes lips look deeper BUT, every little razor bump or pimple becomes equally as dark and noticeable. I don't even dance on the parts of the stage that have a green bulb above them. I'm forever in the red *wink*.

Sophia, then, I guess you could say staying in the red keeps you in the black? ;-)

    ha ha!
I am so like that too - whenever theres a white light i dont dance anywhere near it, even if theres people there - i keep my distance so i look better!!! Mad isnt it! But i used to do professional ice shows and know how strong white light is when you're on stage! Cabn't believe some clubs still do it in places. I think the best is that rope lighting on the edge of the stage - gives a nice little glow (but not on its own obviously!!! lol)

I started this thread because i was looking at a book on amazon about lighting the nude for photos and wondered if anyone had knowledge of strip show specific lights.
Its actually turned out more intersting than i thought!
