    Default Spinning pole!!

I auditioned at a new club tonite and i was so excited to get onstage and climbing into what i thought was a non spinning pole. What an uneasy surprise! I was soo dissappointed. I tried a few basic spins and of course i felt dizzy and it was hard to stop. Now I feel like i have to learn tricks all over again. Stupid spinning pole!

Can I go upside down?? How hard is that going to be? I did some searches and I guess I'll have to practice the pulling away from the pole to try to stop it. I hope this gets a lot more fun for me. I feel like i don't have control on that pole.

We have spinning poles at our club...my suggestion is to start out slow, and learn how much of an impetus it needs to spin and how fast. Once you get used to it, you can find out how to modify your current tricks or find some new ones that look better on a spinning pole.
Age is only important when it comes to wine and whiskey!

Once you get use to it, spinning poles rock. They can make the most simple trick look mindblowing. Do what you already know but take it slow. Good luck!

i just had the same thing happen to me today. i've been working at the same club for almost a year, and i started at a new club today and discovered the "spinning pole". i don't know what the hell i'm doing anymore. it's like being new again. :/ the worst part is, the pole there spins.. but not well. it sticks sometimes, which makes it even harder.

Yes thats me in the pic Lola. I'm holding with my inner thigh and lats/arm. Check out the awesome way Pantera does it and many others in this clip - and yes, shes using a spinning pole!

And if you wanna know how to do these type of moves you should really buy poletricks101 dvd. That particular move isnt on it but a lot more amazing ones are.

I love spinning poles - loads of fun when u get used to them! But those that need a bit of oilling can be tricky.
One word of warning about them very fast spinnings poles- you can get tendonitis in your wrists as your grip is different for spinning.
With a static pole you tend to curl your hand in as you touch but your wrist will straighten on a spinning pole , hence extra stretch in the ligaments. If your wrists ache after your stage show go slowly and after a week or three u should of got used to it without damaging anything!

OK, just an update on this thread...I worked Sat and last nite and the spinning pole officially ROCKS!! I learned 2 good tricks on it thanks to a girl willing to teach. It was sooo much fun! I like it more than the stationary one. I love just putting the left foot on the base and free spin.

Anney ~ those tricks were awesome. You totally inspired me to try something new when I go to work on Friday.

Ah, thank you! I'm not trying to do the British thing n be modest but i would say that the only way i got good was watching others n practicing hard. I have seen (and will continue to see, i hope) girls that are far better than me on the pole - how else do you learn?? My friends keep telling me to do a proper video of the stuff i do! LOL
