Default Does anyone else use grip spray on the pole?

Just wondering if anyone else uses grip spray or chalk for pole work?

I use Firm Grip and have only started doing so after 6yrs of not needing it because the pole in my new club is always a bit slippy. Plus its brilliant for practising at home because it helps me learn new moves safely.
I must admit though that i do more climbing and poses than spinning which can be difficult when you have first sprayed your hands (although brill for spinning poles)

I have seen chalk advertised but how good is it?

    Anyone else use anything?

PS I clean my pole with vodka n its fantastic at getting rid of grease!

I used DriGrip. I loved it. I used it for spinning, as well since the pole at my old club was extremely slippery.

    Sorry...spelled it wrong.

    Dry grip:

This isn't the one that I have, but I cannot find it anywhere right now. But, the one I have is like a clear liquid/gel that you rub on your hands. It doesn't leave a residue and it's not powdery.

Nice because it won't leave a trace on your stripper wear.

My problem Rozz is not sweaty hands - its when the pole is slippy from either other girls or that its just not the best quality pole.

Some nights u can clean the pole before your show but it still seems slippier than usual. I'm sure its to do with room temperature too.

When i teach someone a difficult trick i always get them to spray their hands with Firm Grip and they climb the pole like little monkeys, lol!

But now i need to work on my spins and wanted to find an alternative to Firm Grip...
I will check out dry hands too tho, thanks!

Damn, this is perfectly timed--the pole at my new club is the slipperiest metal I have ever seen--even worse than the dreaded stainless steel. I was about to try something out on it when I went in to audition (there were no customers there, or I wouldn't consider it), but the moment I gripped it I knew it would be suicidal to try it--and I've done tricks on lampposts, even.

It'd be worth it to order some of this stuff for sure--thanks for the info!

    check out all these links

    http://www.onlinesports.com/pages/I,CR-061027.html

You spray it onto both hands then pat hands together a few times till u feel the stickiness, then go be amazed - try to climb first its brilliant! If at first it TOO sticky just pat against ur legs or arms to get rid of the initial tack.
It does wear off as u dance, especially if u touch a lot of things
Also please dont forget to clean the pole after if need be (its not ALWAYS necessary) just in case the next person wishes to do a lot of spins!!!

i acually bought mine on ebay months back, just search Firm Grip Spray and its made by Cramer.

We use rubbing alcohol on the pole at my club. It gets rid of the grease and keeps the pole from being slippery from girls' body lotion.

I've never heard of anything like this but I'm definatly interested. The pole at my club and been worse than usual. I've tried rubbing alcohol and club soda (which works better than alcohol) and nothing seems to work

When i only use alcohol I clean the pole then with a clean tissue i rub it on my hands too, and i also put it on my lats, inner arm, sometimes shins - wherever is an important contact point for my pole tricks - and i find it works brilliantly. You do have to let it evaporate for a minute tho, especially on your hands.
