Default I just had to tell SOMEONE!

Our head girl is leaving, and she has asked me to replace her!

Im so thrilled, although the extra responsibility will be stressful.

I cant say anything just yet, as she wants to find a new job (in the "real world") before she quits, and there is another girl (who is a powerhungry BS artist, and ALREADY acting like she is head girl) who desperately wants the position (and is screwing a manager) so it all needs to be sorted out first.

Have you been a housemum/headgirl? What do you think are the qualities of a good one?

    Any advice for me ladies?

    Wish me luck!

Congrats!! My best friend and I are the head dancers at our club. The stress of dealing with all the drama will get you sometimes, but you'll be fine. We usually have no problems at all with getting the girls to listen to us, we never get any BS either. Don't tolerate any BS at all. You may have a hard time getting dancers to respect your authority, but if you are kind and fair that will take you far, but don't be afraid to let the biatch come out when need be...lol

Just my opinion... I do not think a dancer should be in charge of the dancers. All this will do is cause conflict. I have been ( still am ) a dancer and was a house mom before moving to Az.. In my experiences as a house mom you need to be neutral and it will be hard if not impossible to stay neutral in certain problems that will come up with dancers and fights/arguements.

When I was offered the house mom position I was a dancer and quit the stage for the house mom role. The first few weeks were really difficult to get the girls to look at me as part of management and not their "friend" a fellow dancer anymore.

It sounds like there maybe be drama already with the other dancer....especially if she is sleeping with a manager/owner whoever....
I am not saying do not do it just be prepared she will not be happy if she wants the position and you end up getting it, it will be your first test as housemom/headgirl.
I just believe that a manager in this buisness needs to stay neutral, and not take part on the stage.

Congrats... and keep us informed on what happens.

Ive never came across a non-dancer girl being head before. We had MALE managers (who called me the Fat Fraulein in public regularly) who were idiots and had no problems with extras, as they werent the ones dealing with "well the OTHER girl let me" and werent affected by any management decisions.

The reason one of us does it, is cos we understand all the dancer dramas (like bitch fights, girl problems) and are more likely to "deal" with a problem rather than just saying "oh well"

Oh yes there ARE dramas, especially after that girl S abused the head girls little sister (I mean how stupid or what) about adjusting the lighting, when S WASNT EVEN WORKING at the time (Sis has quite a few self-harm scars and adjusts the lights so they arent too noticable) and threatened to FIRE HER if it happened again!

I've never worked at a club where there are 'head dancers'. I don't even really know what that is. But it sounds like you're excited, so I'm happy for you!

I had left dancing to become my club's house mom about a year ago and this was an issue at times. You definately have to remain neutral and certain about your authority. Don't take any B.S. what so ever and always stand your ground. The other girls will try to get away with anything and everything they can possibly conjure up!

Also, I don't know how your club works this, but housemoms are not allowed to dance and I really missed the money. However, there were some nights where I had made more than some of the dancers. I ended up taking the housemom position because my fiance' at the time made me quit dancing (and he was the head D.J. at the same club - hypocrite!) and this was a much better option than waitressing for me.

Best of luck!! I hope you do great and make lots of $$$$$!

When I was house mom I danced too, and I never really had much of a problem getting people to listen. The BS ended here, period. But you really really have to be fair about things, and learn to do a verbal warning before you end up getting someone canned. I was the typical 3 strikes your out type of person. The most difficult part was the schedule really. I mean if you tell me your gonna work this, this and this day this week, thats what I'm putting you down for, and if you dont show up for a shift you said you would work, dont look at me with that stupid expression when you have to pay a fine before you can even take the floor when you show up next. Anyway, good luck in your new position!
