Default best way to remove makeup under the eye?

I've notice I've got a couple wrinkles just under my eye, and I think it's from removing makeup. Plus, I've got a couple white dots under one of the eyes which I can't figure out if they're calcium deposits or zits. I'm betting on zits. So, what is the best way to remove makeup under the eye? Normally I wash my face and gently run my finger under my eyes to wipe of mascara/eyeliner residue, and then take a Qtip and wet it, do it again, and then repeat with a dry Qtip. What are some good makeup removers that would be gentle enough that I wouldn't be putting pressure on my under-eye (where the ugly ol' bags are that get worse with pressure.)

    Thanks.

Hmmm...I've always used Grape Seed Oil (or Miracell Oil). Take anything and everything right off.

I use Jojoba oil with a cotton ball. It doesn't make me break out & it leaves my under eye skin nice.

cool. Do you guys notice little crevice wrinkles under your eyes? I mean, I'm in my early twenties, so I don't know if that's normal-- or if it's because I'm wearing heavy makeup like that 3-4 times a week.

I got that from tanning to the point where my skin got burnt. It's not something that noticeable, but I can see it. Dumb move.

Anyway, Vit. E & Jojoba oil has helped my skin there alot.

I'm a huge huge fan of the "Take the Day Off" eye makeup remover by Clinique. It works very well, and while it's about $16 a bottle, it lasts me a good long time. It also seems to help keep my undereye moisturized and doesn't rub or pull, which is great for my undereye circles (of doom!).

Moisturizing that skin very well after you remove the makeup also helps a ton in the long term.

The little white bumps you mentioned are called "milia" I think-pretty common and no biggie, (I have a couple). I like to use Neutrogena's eye make-up remover, it's inexpensive, works great and smells nice! Also sometimes wet a q-tip for liner under the eye that's stubborn and won't come off... and try not to "tug" downward when removing.

I like Andrea eye-makeup remover pads. They're cheap and gentle. You can't remove eye makeup without tugging on your eye somewhat, especially mascara, but I doubt that causes wrinkles.

Avoid using oil-based removers if you're wearing contacts.

Cherry Pie-- But how do you get rid of the little white bumps? They're ANNOYING even if I'm probably the only one who notices them. I had one awhile back on my upper eyelid and I fucked around with it with a needle and trying to pop it. It inflated HUGE and then popped like a zit and the whole thing went away. I don't want to go that route again because the skin under my eye is more fragile. Any thoughts?

As for removing makeup under the eye, whatever product you end up with, try using a q-tip instead of cotton balls/pads. The q-tip allows for 'precision' under the eye, with absolutely NO pressure and hard rubbing. AND another plus side, is that you end up using less product, so it lasts a lot longer.

I use those Oil of Olay facial wipey clothes that you just wipe your face down with. I just wipe around my eyes with it too.

I have the lil' white bumps too. I was told they were from rubbing. I also have horrendous dark circles, which are hereditary.
Anyway, for makeup removal & cleansng, (eye & regular) I use Pond's Clean Sweep cleansing towelettes.

I use baby wipes for newborn babies --- swear to god. they work great and they're a lot softer than regular baby wipes.

For milia, as with most anything else, try and avoid those at-home surgeries! (tempting as it may be, I once watched my brother try and remove a severely infected ingrown toenail with a carving knife )...anyway here's an article
    <http://www.faceart.com/makeup/tips/articles/skinfo/aromatherapy_for_skin_conditions.php#milia>

"MILIA (whiteheads) pearl-like grains, of dead cells and sebum obstructed beneath the epidermis. Related to the liver and gall bladder, which break down fats - look into dietary causes. Do not attempt to remove these yourself.
A gentle method of dissolving the top layer of skin (so that the hardened granule that is trapped beneath this film of skin can escape) is to apply honey. Tea tree applied neat helps to break down the blocked oil deposit. Although neither of these methods will work overnight, milia removal that may cause scarring is best avoided. "

i like to use cetaphil and a cotton square before i wash my face after work. it's really gentle on the skin and it seems to get the make up off well.

i use it to wash my face in the morning too. i especially like the fact that i don't have to use water with it, because too much actual washing dries my skin out badly.

I use the make up removing towelettes right after work, much better than soap and water, not as messy, just wipe and throw out.It takes everything off, including mascara and liquid eyeliner.

The only thing I've ever used to remove makeup is lotion! I rub a tiny bit onto whatever area I want to clean up, then wipe it off with a bit of toilet paper. It comes right off.
