So, to make a long story short, in late March I was missing a ton of eyelashes on my upper lids, and desperately looking for a product that would grow them in as fast as possible. I've tried Talika with questionable results, so I didn't really want to try that again. In my search, I found this product that seemed to promise incredible results: Jan Marini Age Intervention Eyelash. Not being completely naive, I looked for customer testimonials on the product and didn't find many (the product's only been out since February of this year), but surprisingly, those I did find seemed very positive. The downside: One tube of this stuff retails for $160!!! I did find it online for about $25 less, but still, Jesus, that's a lot of money.
But I was desperate. So, in a fit of insanity and a promise to myself that if this turned out to be a rip-off, I was becoming a cosmetics nun for the rest of the year, I plunked down my money and received it on March 28. It comes in a tube that lasts for about 12 weeks, and is a liquid that you apply to your eyelid with an eyeliner brush, every night before bed. You only use it once a day.
I've been using it for about 37 days now, and I can say that the results are definitely *wow*. My missing eyelashes are now almost completely grown in, a process that usually takes at least 8-10 weeks. My lower lashes, which are normally so short and fine as to be virtually invisible, are now easily double their usual length and much more visible. My upper lashes are considerably longer than normal. I just applied mascara for the first time since starting this whole adventure, and I could NOT believe it. It looked like I had fake eyelashes on.
I've still got 2 months left in this tube, so I'll post about my results as I continue using it, but so far, I can definitely say WOW. So, to sum up:
Product: Jan Marini Age Intervention Eyelash
What it is: Eyelash growth promotor and conditioner
What it promises to do: Grow your eyelashes to super-human lengths
What it actually does do: Grow your eyelashes to super-human lengths!
Pros: Easy to apply, only requires one application per day, uses small quantity of product, lasts 3 months, ACTUALLY WORKS.
Cons: Costs an arm and a leg -- $125-160. Available through spas and dermatologists, so you might need a consultation first in order to get it. I was able to acquire it online without one, though, and most sites that did require it only required phone or email.

In this case, I told myself, "If I'm gonna spend that kind of money on something that literally costs me over $2 every time I use it, I'd damn well better commit to seeing results!" So I buckled down and I've been extra vigilant in controlling my behavior, and it seems to work thus far. Plus, my lashes grew in so quickly and evenly that it was easy to motivate myself.
