She complained Wednesday that she was feeling "all itchy". I checked her over and didn't find anything, so I put some lotion thinking it was dry skin.
Well, yesterday I put her down for a nap at around 1:30pm and she fell asleep about 2pm. AND SLEPT FOR 4 HOURS. I wanted to wake her up, but it's so unlike her that I let her sleep...knowing that something was going on. I checked on her a few times and she was doing fine...snuggled under the covers.
After she woke up, she came down stairs, and told me that she felt itchy again. I had my back turned and when I looked at her I gasped. She was COVERED, COVERED with little red bumps.
She got Chicken Pox!!! I ran to the store and bought Benadryl, Aveeno Oatmeal Bath and Calamine Lotion.
She didn't sleep well all night and now I know it goes on for 7-10 days!!!! Also that the 3rd and 4th days are the most severe (itching wise).
I feel so bad for her because I remember how horrible it was for me when I had it. Ick.
The upside is, at least she doesn't miss any school.

I remember when I caught the chickenpox. My mom was slick with it though. My baby sister had them before me. My mom told me to get in a picture with her
haha my mom was like, "no get closer" she was trying to make me catch the pox so I guess I could get it over and done with.
Chicken pox are my most vivid memory of preschool.
I don't have any advice... the only thing I remember my mom doing is patting me with calamine lotion and yelling at me, "DONT SCRATCH!!" and "YOURE NOT SCRATCHING ARE YOU?!"
