What do you ladies do when there are too many girls? I don't mean a full shift, I mean just TOO MANY GIRLS!Do you stick it out? Do you just go home? Is there another club you head to instead?

If you think school is hard, try being stupid.

Stick it out and focus your attention on your demographic, be sensitive to whether it's a slow or fast buyer, and expect to pounce on the room later in the night when the other girls are tired and defeated.

Sometimes girls go home and then theres a rush of guys. Ive been there when that has happened and it was good for me.
Meanwhile, when youre bored and no one is in take a moment to read something (magazine, book, homework) to zone out and not focus on how its dead. This gets my mind off how much money I do or dont have at the moment.

stick it out if the club is worth it, alot of girls end up going home
Do it tortoise-and-hare style. Take it easy early in the night and work harder at the end when everybody else has gone home or is sitting around drunk in the dressing room bitching about how slow it is.
Adjust your hustle. I don't like to pounce on guys as soon as they come in -- makes 'em nervous -- but I will stop by and say something like "You just got here, didn't you? Why don't you sit down and order a drink and when I get back you'll be ready for me." I'll plant seeds like this with several guys, wait 5-10 minutes, and check back with the most promising ones when they're having their first drink. This lets me feel out several customers and get them thinking about me, but gets me back to the table pretty quickly, since the other girls are probably circling like hungry sharks. Some girls will camp out with guys on nights when there are too many girls, and more or less refuse to budge until he buys a dance. I guess this works for them, but I feel like I'm wasting time this way. I'd rather float around a bit and hope to find the one customer who'll make my night.
If you're club is always like this, the best thing you can do is cultivate regulars. This takes time and effort, but will pay off when you have customers coming in who will wave other girls off to dance with you.

I just stick it out and make my rounds. I stopped working in the big city clubs on a regular basis for that very reason.
Going home is not an option as you could find yourself at home more than at work.
When guys have too much of a selection of dancers, it makes them hesitant to choose one to buy from. if you have to work under those conditions too much, it will be hard to make a stable living as a dancer.
All you can do is stay on the floor and work the guys as best you can.
It sucks but there is really nothing you can do about it.

This is a regular occurance at our club, as we're overstaffed right now. Typically when our shift starts we have 20 girls. (Ideal # is 12) So, for the first hour or so, I do my set, order food, do my makeup/hair, and hang out. I will go try to get my drinks (we have a drink quota) if there are enough customers. Soon after girls start leaving, and by the time the club gets busy (10pm or so) we are down to 12 girls. If you stay, odds are girls will go home/stop working and you'll still be able to make money.
I believe you Dottie and you have my support
I also stick it out. I would worry that if I left I'd miss out on earnings. But if a club has too many dancers more often than not then it's time to find another club.

i think the best way to approach every day/night at the club is as if there are no other girls there. i try not to think about it. i talk to everyone possible, i stay busy, and later in the shift i hear a ton of girls bitching about how they didn't make any money.... yet they sat at the bar playing games or hung out in the dressing room all shift.
On the nights when you feel that you're getting depressed that there are too many girls working, just go to the back of the club for a few minutes and watch the floor. You'll find that the majority of the girls are wallflowers or are sitting with just one customer...wasting time. I always banked off of the customers who were being "ignored" by the other girls.
When you look at the whole picture, you'll be surprised to find how many people there you could make money off of.
Don't let it get you down. When you're in the middle of all of these dancers, it looks depressing...but once you stand back and get a really good look, you'll realize you weren't getting an objective view of the floor.
Good luck!
I've also found this to be true. My club seems to be overstaffed most of the time, but I still find customers all the time who have been sitting for ten or fifteen minutes without being approached. These guys are often very easy to sell dances to, as theystart to wonder if any girl will approach them. Look for guys who are rubbernecking every girl who walks past -- they're desperate.Originally Posted by VenusGoddess
