    Default that time of month

Hi me and my girlfriend had set a date when we were gonna go dance for the first time. But then something came up that really concerned her. She would be on her period all that week. Is this a big issue? How do you hide your tampon string? Do most girls dance when they are on their period? thanks.

This topic has already been discussed on here many times...
But yeah, most dancers work on their periods, and most cut the string. However, there's also a fabulous alternative to tampons. It's called the Keeper: http://www.keeper.com or there's a similar product by another company: http://www.mooncup-info.com
I've used both of those, and have a slight preference for the Mooncup, but mostly only because I like the clear-ish/milky white color better than the red-brown of the Keeper. Anyway, if you look at the websites there are photos. You can cut the stem to as short as you want (I cut most of mine off, so there's just a small stub), and as least with my anatomy it doesn't show at all, no matter how much I spread my legs.

You can cut the string short and tuck it up, or keep it long and just tuck it up in there- no biggie.
Take the road less traveled- just make sure you have a map.

    What I do:

Take a Super OB tampon (or any Super one without the applicator), cut it in half.

Take the part without the string and coat with lube and insert it as far as it can go.

Remove as needed like a regular tampon.

This also works for when you want to have sex on your period (some men can feel the cups)...you may have to do some 'digging' to remove it, but it works like a charm.

    Hugs,

    Vee

Whoa, you have sex with half a tampon in?! Doesn't it make him ram up against you uncomfortably?!

    Not at all!

If you lube it really well (I mean, REALLY well!) it gets soft, and well....

    You cannot even feel it.

    Hugs!

Okay first of all the lube would cause to tampon to not be about to absorbe anymore.. and why cut a tampon in half? That kills the purpose... nevermind the fact sex with a tampon = toxic shock... but what do I know...

    A few things:
1.) same as everyone else I just tuck the little guy up there BUT one time I didn't get the string all the way up and I was on stage shoving it in someone's FACE!!! talk about gross. However they still bought dance from me later for some jacked up reason
2.) I am so so so lucky to have boyfriend that honestly doesn't mind having sex on my period. Something about blood equaling danger.
3.)MOST tampons in the US contain arsenic in them which is to maske you bleed more, thus using up their product faster. Buy ORGANIC COTTON tampons only. They aren't like knotty or brown or anything they are exactly the same as any other brand but you can rest assured you aren't getting a dose of chemicals
4.) the reason the FDA does not ban these tampons is because technically you are not INGESTING the arsenic. Yes it is absorbing onto your cervix so its the same thing but apparently that is not in the bigger companies best interest to reveal to us.

    ARGGhhh. I say, ARGGGgghh.

Yeah, i think i'll just stick with the cut and tuck. I dont like the idea of not having a string to pull the little sucker out. My man is the same , he doesnt mind doing it on the period either. If they want it bad enough, then it doesn't matter, as long as you put a towel underneath it's really not that bad.

Ok, it's asbestos, not arsenic, and that's an urban myth anyways.

just tuck it up or hell if you're that concerend cut the string... just make sure its securly stored way up there, you don't want any mishaps on stage or dancing for a customer.. it might hurt your earning potential, if you know what i mean....hahaa
