    Help me set some goals!

    Hello all.
I have perused this website for quite awhile now and have found it to be very helpful. Now, I need help setting some goals pertaining to weight loss/fitness. I have done a search on this topic but haven't quite found what I'm looking for. Your suggestions/links to posts are appreciated.
    About me:
I've never danced professionally, but I plan on doing so. I've taken a pole dancing class (fun!) and done my homework (gone to clubs, also fun). The clubs I'd desire to work in all feature girls with my "look", but all of them are thinner than me.
I need help setting goals. Here are my stats:
height 5'7 and a half inch
weight fluctuates between 150 and 155 lbs.
    chest 36C
    waist 36 inches
    hips 38 inches

This puts me on the high (almost "overweight") end of my BMI chart.
Do any of you gals have similar measurements?
Is this acceptable for a dancer?
I'd like to lose 15 lbs, which would put me at 135 lbs. Does this seem like a reasonable goal?
Sorry if I seem particular, but I guess I'm nervous. I know nothing can be perfect, but I'd like to come close!
BTW I am in Portland, OR, USA.

There's no way to really say how you look w/o a picture. Sorry, but SW ladies kinda look down on those "am I to fat/thick/skinny" type of threads. The one thing I'd recommend is a healthy diet and lots of cardio. Good diet will be the hardest part I believe.

Oh, and yes, I am a girl with a similiar bodytype of yours. I'm 5'5 145lbs 38DD-26-38. It's really all about confidence. I make good money in my club (not always, that's for sure haha) and alot of customers like my body/face. Trust me, men come to the club to see variety.

Cardio and Confidence go hand in hand..

Once you start dancing (in my experience) the weight falls off. I don't like to be rail thin, but it never fails. I am 5'10" currently 152 lbs 36 C. I just went back to work last month after a long break and when I walked into the club I weighed 168.

I am a 'bigger' girl in my club, not only with weight but height, but like was said it is all about confidence.

Your going to be the hottest one there right? *wink wink*

Don't worry, I'm 5'7 and I fluctuate between 155 and 165 pounds. Don't let the scale dictate how you should look. Even when I was sickly toothpick skinny I still weighed 125 pounds when I looked like I should have been below 100. It's all about how you feel! Remember, men like different looks. Not everyone goes for the stick-insect type.

Hmm, but your waist measures almost the same as your chest and hips. That's an indicator to me that you have a bit to lose before you start dancing.

HI I'm back with an update. I've lost about 10 pounds since my last post (I'm at 140) and two inches off both my waist and hips! I asked (in person) if they were hiring at my first choice club, and the manager just looked me up and down in my street clothes and asked what my availability for scheduling was. Good sign, eh? I chatted up a few of the girls there and found out a bit about the place. I'll be auditioning soon...I'll let you know how it goes! Thank you again for the kind words and honesty (especially Scarlett!).
