Awww, clowns are merry. You just haven't met the right clown yet!
Clowns are scary! They act all happy, and then when you're sleeping at night, they crawl out from under your bed and eat your face off!
Pappy... I'm going to kill you. Don't think I didn't see this:

Ahh ha i as well dont care for clowns at all.
They paint a smile on the face....Think about that. But under that smile i am SURE they are not smiling, and have evil thoughts, people just can't see that 'sick' side of a clown under the make-up.

When I was little about 4-5 my family took me to a parade, a clown came running up to me and I started screaming and crying like a lunatic. That was it for me.......I knew then the evil they possesed. Then at 9 my one grandma bought me this little clown about a foot tall, it had floppy arms and legs and my mom sat it on my dresser.....I swear that thing came alive at night!![]()
My mom gave it to my other grandma....she still has it!!! I refuse to get near it.....She thinks it's a cute little clown.....but it's NOT!![]()

"IT" never scares me. It's one of my favorite movies and books. But, it's only because I know that in the movie, it was really Tim Curry under all the makeup and the scary clown costume. LOLOriginally Posted by sassysummer

OK.. I guess I should say that picture did nothing to scare me, Pappy. Clowns that purposely LOOK scary, don't scare me. Happy, painted-on smile clowns scare me.

^ happy ones don't scare me..well real life happy ones, it's the dolls and paintings that freak me out! lol

During the scene where Robbie ('Oliver Robbins' ) is being strangled, the clown's arms became extremely tight and Robbins started to choke. When he screamed out, "I can't breathe!" 'Steven Spielberg' and Tobe Hooper thought that the boy was ad-libbing and just instructed him to look at the camera. When Spielberg saw Robbins's face turning purple, he ran over and removed the clown's arms from Robbins's neck.
Both of the terrors that plague Robbie came from 'Steven Spielberg' 's own fears as a child, a fear of clowns and a tree outside his window.

It never ceases to amaze me what one can learn (w)wandering around the net. One of my kids had (maybe still has as an adult) a hysterical fear of clowns when he was little, especially the very smiley kind. I always thought it very very strange of him; now I find out it is pretty common and that there are whole net communities of clown-phobics. I'll have to pass the link along to him.
