    My own worst enemy

I've been having such a motivation problem lately and have absolutely hated going to work. I work in a decent club, nice managers and girls and fairly decent customers. However, I've been at the level of "how little money can I get by on before I have to go in to work again?" And when I'm there, my hustle is nearly non-existant. I'm not in a position to stop dancing yet. Does anybody have advice on renewing the excitement? I miss the days when work was fun!

When I start to feel hustleless I plan a working vacation. A new environment is always motivating. maybe take a break first. I know it's not always possible to just get up and go but if possible try it!

You mean go to a different club for a while or just take time off completely? I've literally worked twice in two weeks thinking I would feel refreshed, but it just made it harder to go back. I'm apprehensive about going to a new club because I work with such great people and I guess I'm afraid of walking into a new place and developing an all new level of "screw this."

Thank you sooooo much for replying, I definately need the help!

Maybe you should try to figure out what is bothering you about work - You seem to like the people you work with, so maybe it's the work itself that bugs you....

Why not try getting a makeover for yourself? Like get a new color highlight, take a trip to the spa and go buy some new outfits at Victoria's Secret or something. Maybe if you get a new look and some new outfits it'll make you feel sexier and it'll motivate you. I know it would for me. Maybe try also making yourself a promise that if you make a certain amount of money that week that you'll treat yourself to a pair of shoes you've been wanting or a Louis Vuitton purse or something. If nothing seems to work then maybe you're just burned out and maybe you need to take a long break from stripping. Hope you start feeling better!

Sassy Mom makes sense. Would you feel this way if you worked in an office? We all need full time income to live. What is it about your dancing that causes you to jeopardize your financial security by not going to work and treating dancing like a career?

Is it hard to sell the guys? Is your level of competition too high? Are you working with too many girls and not enough customers? Are you getting pressure from the outside world that makes you feel less of a person for dancing? Are you motivated to make as much money as you can, and to have financial security, or do you feel it won't happen for you through dancing?

What will you do when you stop dancing and you get bored with your job? You won't have the liberty to just not go in, will you?

I think you need to look deep within to find out why you are lacking the motivation to work the floor hard and make maximum bucks.

I mean go try a club out of town for a weak. I know it's scary to try new clubs. Maybe one of your girlfriends would like to go along. Sharing expences helps alot.
I don't know what part of the country you live in or what you're used to but there are lots of great clubs that are just getting into seasonal swing. check it out.

Tina has some very good points. For the most part, introspection is what gets me motivated for work. I don't know if it will help you, but personally, I like to think about what will make me better at what I do. I think about what immobilized me or my hustle. Was it the fact that I drank too much, felt insecure about something, or didn't have a persuasive answer for a pervy request that was out of my bounds? I think about how to fix them, and then go into another night with those things "fixed" and treat the evening as a test model. The job is still so bizarre to me that the very mystery of solving this problem keeps me interested. I supplement it with books and movies on the topic (or conduits) then try to apply them.

If none of this works, then a change of shift, club, hairstyle, or outfit usually suffices. Hell, I've been riding on the false eyelash jaunt for the last two weeks, and what difference they make...
