Well I was in Laughlin,NV for the "River Run" and ended up at the blackjack tables. I really don't consider myself much of a gambler, hell everyone had to tell me what to do each hand lol. I did enjoy the free drinks, and some of the dealers were quite entertaining. As long as I wasn't losing all that much $$ I had a good time.
I play blackjack, it's simple, doesn't require a poker face, and gets me free drinksPlus, for some reason, I'm good at it. (Until I'm too drunk to count anyway
)
I believe you Dottie and you have my support

Texas Hold-Em ...
I don't know about a poker face, but about 10" of cleavage hanging out of my top usually tilts the odds in my favor a bit !

Poker...at which I make the majority of the money I spend in SCs (and on escorts), one "vice" feeding others! Imo, it is the only reasonably choice among casino games if your goal is making money (as opposed to having fun, for example). The reason is simple enough; you are not trying to take money away from the casino (impossible to do over the long run) but instead from other players. If you are enough better than your average opponent, you can have a positive statistical expectation (i.e., be in the position the house is in for all the other casino games). I have been doing this for decades, btw, long before the current TV-driven poker fad.
(Actually, one other kind of casino gambling has this property of playing against other custormers, namely sports "book" betting, which is paramutual. I am no expert, but I think you really have to be incredibly better informed about the sports you bet on than most fans, even avid ones, to have much of an edge. So, I don't consider it a competitive option vs poker.)
Great idea for a question, btw.

yup, that's the bottom line ... and if you can't outplay em, distract em ... dancers actually have a ton of advantages at a casino poker table even if they're not totally seasoned players.The reason is simple enough; you are not trying to take money away from the casino (impossible to do over the long run) but instead from other players. PS I agree on the sports books. Too many variables to keep track of, too much potential for 'point shaving', too much 'inside info' the average person doesn't have access to (like which players have a sprain or flu symptoms this week).

Too true. Again, if your goal is making money, you want to concentrate on taking $$$ away from weak players, not on beating the good ones (as TV encourages newbies to believe). More times than I can remotely remember I have walked away from a table in which some beautiful woman was distracting and charming everyone, including me, off their game and out of their money.Originally Posted by Melonie

I don't really know, but I also strongly suspect that playing the sports books is basically a way of giving money to players with some sort access to inside info...so I agree.PS I agree on the sports books. 21 here
I'm a blackjack buff. It's got the least house advantage in games against the casino. It's also easy to play, if you're not counting cards
My poker face sucks ass! I'm usually too busy flirting with the cocktail waitresses and other female players to concentrate on my game, so blackjack works for me that way!

My favorite games are:
1) Pai Gow Poker - game with conservative odds (takes two hands vs. the dealer to win, but two hands also to lose), but potentially lucrative (esp. with the bonus payouts).
2) Blackjack - mainly because it's prevalent and accessible
3) Sports Betting - I don't do this as much though because it requires a depth of detail in researching teams that I'm not willing to partake.

I want to try some live Texas Hold'em but the rake that the house takes in those casinos can make it difficult to win money unless you're really good. (Its a different world than online folks).
