Has anyone else noticed a sharp decline in biz in Phoenix? Obviously it's getting to be summer... but geez. Didn't expect it to be this awful!
Will it get better?

Yep. Weeknights have been extremely painful since May 1st. Weekends are still busy. The same thing happened last May when the Suns were in the playoffs. No one buys dances during the game, and if the game goes into overtime (like last night) they go straight home instead of to the titty bar afterwards.
May and June were consistently my worst months in 2003, 2004, and 2005. It gets a bit better in July and August because a lot of girls get fed up and start traveling to Denver and Albuquerque in search of greener pastures.

How bad is it? I was going to go to Phoenix next week! If "bad" means a reliable $400 a night or so, that's still more than I'm making here, but if it means $100-200, I can make that without paying for a motel room. Is it worth the trip?
Yeah, last night I realized that it was pointless to work during the game. I sat at the bar and watched the game until it was over, hoping it would get busy afterwards, and it never did!! Surprisingly, I was in a really good mood all night last night. I think for me, it's not so much that I'm not making ALOT of money on the weeknights, I'm just not making it fast and all night, so I'm getting super bored, then I lose momentum.Originally Posted by britneyireland
How are Wednesdays and Thursdays? If the Suns aren't playing on those days, is it relatively better? I also read on the stripclublist website that some girls don't work the stages at Christies. Is this because they pay out a higher house fee? Or do they pay the dj extra?

Yekhefah, stay in LA til September. As Glamazon will concur, I'm in the top 10% of earners at our club and I just barely pulled $200 last night. I would have walked with $100 if my friend didn't hook me up with her drunk VIP guy as I was on my way to check out. He doubled my night's income in 3 dances.....so that was purely luck and good rapport with other dancers. I don't think a traveling dancer will fare well in Phoenix this summer. This is the time of year when us local girls rely on our regulars because there aren't many VIPs just walking through the door. Also an outsider, you also don't have time to build rapport with the staff.
mmas6, it's tough to answer your question about which nights are better. I heard this past Monday night got busy after the Dbacks game. I have found that if the Suns have an early game around 6:30 that gets out by 10, then the clubs usually get busy after the game. However, if the game goes into overtime and doesn't let out until 11:30, then most of the causal, off the street, "don't go to strip clubs very often but we won and I'm downtown with my buddies" type of guys go straight home. Christie's had a whopping 3 tables that came in after the game, and two of them were regulars.
As for the Stripclublist post, the two girls (yes there are only two) that are excused from stages have both been working there for over 7 years and have documented medical issues (doctor's notes, history of surgery). Both of those girls have also sold excessive amounts of champagne during their 7 year tenure and continue to sell a lot of champagne. NO ONE gets out of stages at CC unless they are signed out in VIP.
If you are a local Phoenix girl, My suggestion for the summer is to work later shifts. I also tend to lose momentum when I sit around for the first hour or two of a shift. The clubs don't tend to have many customers walk through the door until 9:45. At Christie's, there are a lot of girls that leave by 1 because they are frustrated, so in this case the late bird gets the worm.

Yekhefah, $400 a night ain't happenin' in many cities now on a regular basis, let alone in Phoenix where the dances are $10. If you can hit $200 for a 5 hour shift maybe even for 7 or 8 hours, you are doing well. Realistically with all the dancers there, you are looking at a range of about $50-$200 after tip outs when it is slow. Phoenix is about table to table "wanna dance" with about 30 seconds of chit chat with some customers. Clubs there depend on volume. If a dancer can't sell 7 dances minimum an hour on average, she won't do well. And with as many girls as customers, and in some clubs more girls than customers, how are you going to sell that many dances ?
And as Britney said, VIP dances aren't as plentiful now without as many out of town travelers with extra money in their pockets, who don't go to strip clubs much. Even though Phoenix has about 3.7 million people, locals for the most part won't blow money in the VIP unless it's on a regular dancer. Guys there are used to buying several floor dances from several dancers. And the smart regulars will get their dances on the floor (unless contact is substantially more in VIP) and give their regular dancer cash on the side so that the club won't get their cut of her money.
I know the LA metro area is slow in the summer because I worked there. Waaaay more girls than customers. And the customers are stubborn hard knocks to boot.
You're basically caught between a rock and a hard place. The only hope I see is if you get into a few high contact nude clubs find a few "vulnerable" guys you can string out for chunks of money. If you can work 5 nights a week and make between $800-$1000 for the week that is about the best you can hope for.

for me in phx this month $$$ is thinning compared to march and april
but, if i go home with 300 --happened 4 times this month-- i am below average and i consider it a bad day. i work dayshift, less girls than night and more custies spending 100+ on one girl (no VIP ,just dances)
I would try Stevi Secret's in downtown Phoenix
Hope this helps
Julie

Stevie Secrets is in South Phoenix and is a total dive. I am surprised you would say that. I am also suspicious as this is your first post on SW Julie las Vegas. Please don't come on here making jokes.
Cristalla you are an example of a girl staying on dayshift for awhile and getting known. I am sure that has helped you persevere over other dancers who have not established a money spending clientele. The local guys who have favorites will come out in the afternoon after work and spend money.
Stevie's Secret also openly supports sex clubs and prostitution. Not that people who do this are bad or anything, (I don't personally participate, but certainly don't want to condemn anyone) but a newbie should know before being lured there.

Thx for the info. By the way, is Christie's still an all gown club?

Thanks Tina, this is a great idea that had not occurred to me. The HiLiter charges the dancer a $5/dance house fee in their mini-VIP room, which I think absolutely sucks! Extra contact in the VIP is a nice treat once in awhile, but I always get dances on the floor too, and will follow your suggestion with my ATF, who treats me right, whether on the main floor or in VIP.Originally Posted by Tina

Also, one more comment about thinning crowds. I know much of the thread has focused on post-game club visits, but last Monday I was at the HL with a buddy a couple of hours before the D-Backs game (from about 4 - 6). When we got there at 4, there was a decent dayshift crowd, most of the wall seats were filled, and there were plenty of gals working the room. But, by 6pm, I would have thought the club was closing for the night. I counted 10 (TEN) custys, which was about to diminish to 8 with us heading out for the game. This is a medium sized club that has probably 75 - 100 seats (this is a guess, does anyone actually know?). We spent a couple hundred each, enjoyed the company of many of the HL's stunning dayshift, and had a tremendous time, but I just couldn't believe how much the place emptied out at dinnertime.
Oh, and I agree completely about Stevi's Secret. Never been there, and don't have any interest in going, but the place's reputation is just nasty....
You are probably referring to the change they made in Nov/Dec where they mandated all gowns.Originally Posted by mmas6
I went last week and it was predominantly gowns, but there were a few without. Certainly management is focusing on maintaining a certain image.
(IMO Christie's management sucks) But there are some dancers who make good money there.

glad to hear you made it back to the Hi-liter. It's become my favorite.
I went there two wednesdays in a row and asked the girls about the crowds. The Hi-Liter is known for the day shift crowds and apparently it's normal for it to die down until it picks up again around 8:30pm or 9:00pm.
It's exactly what I experienced. I've consistently heard and personally found all the night shifts from Sun through Wed to be light. Whatever nights are the newbie/amatuer nights are especially confusing for the gals which equates to a lame SC experience.
How's BSC doing these days?
And it's been a while since I've seen a report from Skin and Babe's - how's the Scottsdale SC scene in the midst of the Club Jenna/Scottsdale Council debacle?
Finally, has there ever been a report from the Great American Bush Co? I've never gone, but have hear wildly different reports.

mmas6,
Christie's "official" rule is that you have to wear a gown on main stage. You can wear booty shorts, two piece outfits, bra and garters on the floor, but you have to change into a gown for your main stage set. They have been a bit lax on enforcing this rule lately though. Our new manager, Mike G is awesome.

not christies tempe --no gown except vip--all the girls wear just bikinis on stage and off
Tina: yes , is just as you say, young girls get fed up and leave if the club is slow they dont have patience to wait and stay until more people walk thru the door ,and/or ,they dont sit down and talk w the guys they just wannadance around and so they get dances here and there but not a big number ...for nights this method is ok bcs u have a quantity of people, but daytime u need to work with the guys with a more mature approach because they are more mature guys - gentleman s club - !
Thanks for the warning, Bridgette.
It's true, although it would be nice to meet you...so not worth it right now.
LOVE Babe's; it's my favorite! All the girls are hot and despite all the recent commotion, no change in the quality of lap dances. The place still draws a crowd.
So Bridgette, is Phoenix getting to be worth it? When would it be worth the trip? Things are so painfully slow around here, I could use an easier hustle! No one wants to buy a $40 lapdance right now!
Try asking Paris, she just came out here for a stint. First time in a while for her so she can give you a pretty good feel for how biz is.Originally Posted by Yekhefah
At a minimum, the Hi-Liter dayshift seems to have a good regular business. (as the gals tell me, I've never been to their dayshift)
