    Angry ok, SERIOUSLY!

WHY!?? do they put migraine medication into these impenatrable tiny little blister packs! COME ON! If you have a migraine, do they really think you can manuever the damn thing!

    step one..take out blister pack

step two..try to get your fingernail under the thick piece of cardboard to pull it up

    step three...try again

step four...try to poke through MORE cardboard where the perferation is..except, it's not REALLY perferated through, so your pushing down, then the bubble capsule underneath collapses, making it even harder to put your fingernail through the damn thing, hoping your not smashing the teeny tiny triangular $20 pill underneath!

    DAMN IT!

Oh, and THEN when you finally get the damn thing open the pill falls out onto to floor! Drop to your hands and knees to search for that teeny tiny little white triangular $20 pill because damnit, you are NOT wasting your LAST one! GRRR

I have this habit of getting all my pre-packaged pills and putting them into pill containers (usually cut the pill in half too) before I need them because of too many I NEED NYQUIL!!!! moments. >_>

I know exactly what you mean. I suffer from migraines too and take Imitrex and feel like I need an engineering degree to get into the package. And then you have to ration the damn pills because the insurance company seems to think you only need 9 pills every 30 days!

lillith..i can't do that with these pills. they HAVE to be protected from light or they are worthless.

southsbabe..actually, it's not the insurance, it' your dr. (i used to be a pharmacy tech filling rx's) Your dr wrote "dispense 9". What you need to do is tell your dr that you are having more than 9 a month and to write the rx for however many you need in month. but for imitrex, you may not be able to much more than 15 because you shouldn't be taking more 1 every 24-48 hours anyway.

yeah I've taken some migraine med like that, in a shittly little tiny blister pack. Drove me nuts. I also tried Imitrex waaay back when when they gave you a regular syringe along with the whole thing to put it in to shoot yourself wtih. Well, I found it a lot easier just to shoot the damn syringe in my arm like you get a shot. But nooo, the fucking Imitrex people then came out with a shot built in to the damn contraption so you can't just shoot yourself with the syringe. Oh well, I tried that stuff a couple times and not only did it not help but my migraine got worse so it's not for me. I'll still with vicodin. now if I could only find another doc to prescribe it since my doc went AWOL.

My doctor has changed the Rx to dispense 18 per month, so now I get 2 packs. I still have to ration them because my health insurance co will only refill my Imitrex every 30 days and it's not unusual for me to take all 18 within 30 days because as soon as I think I'm getting a headache I take one. I don't sit around waiting to see if it's going to be a migraine or a sinus headache because the pollen count is high that day.

That's an aweful lot to take in one month. have you looked into what could be causing your migraines? are you drinking too much caffeine? getting dehydrated is a very common culprit also..so drink drink drink your water! make sure you're not eating anything with msg..look for it hidden in many processed foods. also stay away from anything with nitrates..i.e. processed meats. have you been to see a neurologist. you shouldn't be having that many migraines in a month. migraine meds can be literally hard on your heart.

some other things to try is chiropracter..find one that deals with migraines and also acupuncture, i've heard GREAT things about that.
