    Default Continuous $200 Nights! grrrr

Ok, well after getting fired from my old club i obviously went out and found another.... I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this, but i have consistently been making $200 every night and its getting pretty damn annoying.. i was average 400-500 at the club i was last at.... Anyone going through this drought?

Yep. I have had that too. I think mine was caused by too much anticipation and expectation. I always had my eye on the watch and I was rushing customers. Now I try and make a repore, pretend that I want to spend all my time with them, then try and get as much money as possible. It is risky but it seems to calm me down. You'd be suprised who will spend money on them once you give them enough time. If this doens't work then think about moving on. Maybe it isn't the right club for you.

^^^^^^^^^^^OUCH! That's an ass kicker. That happened to me earlier in the season. Try to relax and have fun with the guys and they should get more generous. I started going to work like it was a party--not with any dollar expectation in mind.

Well for us things have slowed down...summers here Hang in there, hopefully things will get better for you. Maybe you just need time to build clientele at this new club. Also try to have some perspective...$200 a night is a hell of alot better than min.wage!

Myep. When I get mad about how much I bring home per night, I always look at how much my retail job paychecks are... per week. So much less.

Daytona is dead right now. My new club, my old club--even the huge factory club that's always busy had as many dancers as customers last night, and a lot of them were looking annoyed, and some obviously leaving early with frowns on their faces.

Making the rounds for the first time in a while was interesting, but not good for givng an update about the local business, lol...

The business is suffering from lower head counts all over now. I don't make $200 every night I work. Some nights I make $100 and others $400. When I have good nights, 8 times out of 10 it's because I have been booking the same club for a long time, and have guys who come to see me. During slow periods depending on the club I have gone 12 days with only 3-4 of them being over $200, the rest in the hundreds. I would be happy you are making that much. The amount of money you make depends a lot on who walks in the door and how many regular guys you have, and that varies in all clubs nightly.

Many girls aren't making their payouts back when it is slow, so I would say just stay focused, put in your time, be patient, and gradually you may establish a clientele in your new club that will allow your bottom line to increase. Nowadays having guys who come to see you makes a lot of difference. You are new at this club. Hang in there. We are feeling the pinch too.

Does this new club have as much volume as the other club you were working at? Is the dancer to customer ratio similar? Is the average age of the customer similar? Are the dances similarly priced?

Also, from what I can tell, you have a more 'class act' appearance and style. Some clubs have clientele that appreciate this, some it doesn't matter, and some it can even be a detriment.

If the club isn't appreciating what you have to offer, it might be a good idea to keep looking.

This is normal here and is considered a decent night. If I made this consistantly every night without having to grind and promise men I'll meet them after work; I'd be estatic. (I don't grind or promise; and do act/dance like a lady; so I usually leave with less than $100)
$200 a night would pay my bills just fine.

And I'm at the best and biggest club in the area; and it's a national chain.

(Managers won't step up to the plate; everyone is out for themselves; owner is using the club as a tax write-off and does not care. The nearest club where I could make that kind of money is 2 hours away-from my 2 year old.)

And I swear I'm not ugly.

JUst take a little perspective. as someone said above reffering to her retail job.

If you were not doing this what would you be doing? Would you be making 200 dollars a night/day doing that?

I know you were making more before, liked when you were making more but those days are past, maybe just for now, but maybe forever. Back in the 90's lots of girls made 1000 a night or more almost every night, 500 a night was a "bad night" things have changed and are not likeley to change back

I believe you, and it's not always surprising that a truly good-looking woman doesn't necessarily bank, especially with all the extras going on now.

There is a woman I have known for 6 years now, who is as enchanting (and I mean this quite literally) a dancer as I have ever seen, though I've seen a few who were as good. Every inch of motion is sheer grace...

She is also as irresistable physically as any woman I've known--not without flaws, who the fuck isn't?--but truly magnificent to behold when she is onstage, especially.

She is lucky to make 100$ a night. But she is in the wrong club, and won't go elsewhere. She's also not a hustler by nature.

woo hoo- that's the kind of cash I leave with

I would love to go home with $200 a night.

Anyway KamrynAnne, I hope things begin to look up for you in the future. Going down in earnings is harder to get used to I'm sure.

I would love to be going home with $200 every night. My club has been soooo dead lately, and the customers we do get hold onto their dollar bills with a death grip. I haven't left with over $190 in the past month. While $190 in one night isn't bad (I'd have to work about 23 hours at my old job to make that much) I still wish I was making more. I wish I could complain that I was only making $200 a night. Yes, it's a lot less than you made at your old club, but it's still better than what many dancers are making.

i'm used to making 300-600 a night but here lately, I've been making 120-200. And I work my ass off for it. WTF is going on with this industry?

As each day passes, I am more convinced than ever that I gotta START USING MY DEGREE and get outta dancing! Or at least have a full-time back-up job lined up!

The whole reason I started dancing, was to not only support myself but mostly so I could pay back my college and finish my degree. My degree is in math, and I want to go into finance. I KNOW that people in finance make a lot more than $100/shift, in fact they make more than a GOOD dancer's salary, like over $70K/yr! No most people don't start off making $70K/yr, but can start at $40K/yr or so, which is STILL more than $100/day($100/day x 5 days/week = about $26,000/yr, less than the average US per capita income). And like most careers, finance has opportunity to climb the ladder and get promoted, whereas with dancing it seems that dancer salaries keep plummeting over the years and as someone already mentioned, the good days of the 90s will probably never return.

God even waiters at TGI Fridays make $100 or more during a busy lunch/dinner shift. I knew of girls who were waitresses at fine dining restaurants...one was 18, was a single mom with a GED, and made $250-300 during an 8hr shift...another girl has been waitressing for a few years, but made $300+ during a double...the restaurant where my ex used to work, he said that the top waiters with the best sections(due to seniority) made $400-500 during a double on a good night. Maybe some of us including me should switch to waitressing?...I don't know! My point isn't to complain(sorry if I sound that way :-() but to express my opinion that I do not like how the dancing industry is going and I am desperate to get out by end of summer!! These posts have paralleled with some of my recent experiences, so now I know that it isn't just me. I just get really really worried...

I don't think you sound like a bitch at all...I think that for what our job involves, that we should be making at least $200 per shift. Do we all make that?...no, because the economy sucks and some factors that might be out of our control. I think that if say, a TGI Friday's waiter is making more in his shift than we are dancing(esp if it's at an upscale club or a top club of the area), than it is pointless to be dancing. Although every dancer has their bad days, and for as many bad days, there are probably just as many good days, so I guess we should be able to take the bad with the good. But overall, I'd say that maybe better than "hanging in there" with dancing, is to do it for now but to eventually prepare to move onto a "regular" career...no one can dance into their senior citizen years lol, and the stripping industry seems to be on a gradual, irreversible decline. E.g., use dancing as a means to pay for the education to further your career. Or, use dancing to pay the bills so that you have daytime available for extensive jobsearching, aka "pounding the pavement"(it is hard to search & hold out for the job that you want, when in that time period your bills can catch up to you and overcome you!). Just my thoughts.

YOU DON'T SOUND LIKE A BITCH AT ALL. Your post wasn't to complain that you were making the same as everyone else who dances and you were still mad. The post was about taking a SERIOUS pay cut after switching clubs. What the hell does that have to do with someone being greedy because they are upset with making 200 a shift?

Your earnings were literally cut in half and yes, you can complain rightfully. Your issue is switching clubs. You were making more somewhere else but you were treated like crap. Usually outside of the business you can flourish by saying "Ok i'll go somewhere else, s**** you!" But in your situation there is only one club in Ohio that you can make that kind of money.

You have two three choices as i see it.

    1) Make ammends with your last club and suck it up. (even though they are wrong) Not a heartfelt appology, but only you will know that! So you can go back to earning more along the line of what you are worth. Who cares what everyone will think? Money is money.

    2) Stay at your current club at 200 a night and try to establish regulars. Work twice as hard for half the cash and get burnt out. When you are use to making a certain amount it is REALLY hard to go in for less, esp less then half of what you were making before...

3)travel and find a better club then BOTH. yes they are out there and maybe you wont really have to travel THAT far.

Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

I don't think it is unreasonable to want $200 bucks, what with all the overhead we have and all, but don't complain too loud b/c it IS better than minimum wage.

Besides, I made $12 on Thursday(Saturday was fabulous, though)!! I was so mad I joked about quitting (but gave it some thought). I wouldn't though because this place has BY FAR the best staff I have ever encountered at an SC. (Hey, Mr. Christopher!!) Go figure.
