She sure as heck can get hassled (if not fired)
Women are just as much a target of suspicion as men in that profession right now, especially after all that has been goin on.
What do you think the board will do when drudgereport.com headlines "School Teacher Part Time Stripper!"
I'd tell her to dance outside of her home area, and if possible wear a wig. There are some that look VERY natural. Also tell her that she has to keep it from EVERYONE except her significant other. If anyone knows, it WILL get out.
Ever seen Varsity Blues?
Okay, okay, seriously... I would advise her to work as far away as possible from the town in which she teaches, and also to work only in a 21+ club (In Arizona, a LOT of teens come to the 18+ nude clubs, which would cause a severe risk to a high school teacher).
Her teaching contract may not state specifically that she can be fired for her personal conduct, but I can imagine that a teacher/dancer who was outed would definitely face a lot of harassment that would cause her to leave the teaching profession anyway.
That just KILLS ME! What the fuck, are teachers not allowed to have sex in this country, either? I want to be a teacher... Once I'm a teacher, do you think I can still buy a vibrator? Or, would I get fired if a parent saw me?!?!?!Originally Posted by Deogol

^^ didn't you know? If you buy a vibrator you'll molest their children!
what are the teaching salaries in Fla like??? I would think it is a pretty respectuful income coming in.... Hmm.. i would def tell her to head out a few hours away from where she teaches... Is she trying to work a few days a week or mabye a few weekends a month??
Many, many teacher contracts include lifestyle clauses. A good example is my best friend's union contract: she can't even be seen buying alcohol, and she's 33 years old. A vibator would almost certainly get her canned. As suggested above, even if you're friend's contract doesn't include a lifestyle clause specificaly, it would probably still get her fired, especially if she's not tenured.
Fired and having your license revoked, however, is a totally different thing. She should check state law, as the state is the issuer of the license. She may not have her license revoked if she's fired, but it's also important for her to remember that once she's fired from any school system, it will be difficult for her to get another placement--especially if the reason for letting her go was "sexual misconduct." It really doesn't matter that you or I think it is incredibly stupid to equate stripping and teaching in any way because one has nothing to do with the other. What matters is that, if she gets caught, she'll likely be throwing away an entire career and lots of college tuition.

Remember everyone, this is Afghanistan and we must follow the rules of the Social and Moral Police.
Women who do not cover themselves at all times will be punished for letting someone besides their husband see their body.
Any evidence that this has happened will deny you the right to earn a living. You will also be subject to public scrutiny and ridicule for your vile ways! (Customers, who are just innocent bystanders witnessing these atrocities, of course, will not be punished.)
Instead of stripping, women should work low-end waitressing jobs at Friendly's, rather than actually rake in some decent money. Besides, $5.15/hour is still money! You'll pay off those college loans someday!
The American Taliban sets you up for success.
Thats hilarious!!! i totally agree with your post on this.....Originally Posted by kitkat824

Isn't that a direct violation of our freedoms in this country? I'm slightly confused at how they make this all legal and people allow them to continue it. Just a theory, but if we all were to stand up for ourselves and our freedom to choose what we do with our lives wouldn't they have to start changing that type of thing? Why don't people stand up for themselves anymore?

Okay, so teachers have all of the federal and state and local hoops to jump through, so that "No child get's left behind". They have the political BS of working with in a government agency and dealing with government policy of seniority gets rewarded, not performance. They have parents acting like it is the teacher's fault of their kid gets in trouble. And now they are supposed to have a puritanical private life too?
All that and a Maximum possible salary of $40,000.00 a year? Most entry level teachers earn less than $24,000.00 a year. Hell, that is probably less than what they paid for their first year of college. And a lot of states are requreing post graduate degrees for entry level school teachers!
It is no wonder that 50% of all new teachers quit within the first 2 years, and 80% within the first 5 years.

Ok here..... At one time up untill the early 1960s in Indiana and other places the law was that teachers had to unmarried and if they became pregant while on the job they would be fired. When they did become married they had to also quit there jobs.
That law seems like it would attract a lot of gays and lesbians to teaching careers (in the closet, of courseOriginally Posted by trainfinder22
). Would a single man get fired if he was named the father of child?
That law could also be the reason why catholic schools had so many nuns as teachers.

Will she need a license to dance in Florida? If so, suspect it's either already cross-indexed in some form or fashion such that it will show up in one or more of the State computer systems she's already on (pay, retirement system, criminal background check "dragnet," etc.), or it eventually will be.
Just my .02, but doesn't look like a very good bet to me.![]()

A rumor - Many years ago a teacher and her husband was spotted at a swingers club and she was fired for personal conduct. Regardless of your occupation, you should seriously consider dancing outside of your city... a long drive or even a flight outside of your home town to moonlight.

I am a bit concerned. I am going to go back to school to get my teaching credential. It will take me a year to do this and I plan on dancing the entire time I am in school. But I do plan on stopping once I start teaching. I guess if people really want to pull up dirt on you, nothing will stop them. But my dancing wont be something I flaunt, that's for sure....I guess I can just hope for the best and prepare for the worse.
The plus side-I wont be dancing in the same state I will be living/going to school/teaching in.
Are you "in" or "in the way"?

I think that you're ok as long as you reduce the risk of running into someone who may "tell" on you. Also, take caution in the club you work at. You do not want to be in a raid or any situation like that. Low profile, clean club, and watch your back... Also, I would avoid working in a club that requires a license. Even though it will not come up when you are seeking employment, but I choose to be on the safe side....
Aja... but, beware that in many states (including Florida), applications for professional licenses and/or certifications take the form of a sworn affidavit, which places you in the position of either having to disclose your current and/or prior employment as a dancer or having to lie in a sworn affidavit that's being submitted to a state agency. Damned if you do, and damned if you don't.Originally Posted by oceanside
