    Default Calling all Retirees!!

Anyone out there who has successfully retired from the business? Would love to know where you ended up and how you adjusted to your new life post-dancing!

I danced in Pennsylvania, but quit stripping when I moved back to Houston becasue Houston is notorious for being high-mileage, dirty, and corrupt, as well as licensed. I used my earnings to move back to Houston and get started, and although I had a really hard time getting into nursing school (I gave up on getting into universities and switched to trying to get into community college nursing programs), I worked in a nursing home, which was hell, and now I'm working in a Japanese restaurant as a hostess. Nursing school starts next week.

I quit stripping and now I'm a licensed appraiser's assistant. After working for 2000 hours, I will be an appraiser. It's a great career! Check this out: http://money.cnn.com/2004/11/04/pf/s...nine/index.htm.

    I miss dancing, though...

I quit dancing in 1999, and moved to NYC. I became a struggling professional makeup artist for 4 years, and then fell back into the business, this time on the opposite end. I work now for the Penthouse Executive Club in New York City, though I'm not a dancer. I work in the office.

I do miss dancing, quite a bit. But I'd never do it in New York. NEVER. I used to work in Washington, D.C.- it was awesome there.

There's nothing like dancing, no job in the world. You can never have the hours and freedom that you have dancing. Oh well, C'est La Vie!
It's either be buck naked and deal with slime balls and have money, or be professional and work your ass off.
