Default how long it takes to get regulars?

I'm in my 3rd week of dancing and so far so good (except for last night the disastrous VIP) But anyway, I'm wondering how long it usually takes to build up a bunch of good regulars? Months? Years? Just wondering if anyone knows how when I might start seeing the same faces? I really can't wait, that will make it a little easier! Thanks!

I can never tell whether it's going to work. But if they seem really interested in me, I say right out "It's been great having you here. Come back and see me!" when they're getting ready to leave, and show them how they can get my schedule. Sometimes they promise and never show up again, but about one out of three times I get one or more return visits. When they keep coming back, they're a regular. :-)

I never really had regulars. I didn't want them. I made a lot of money just hustling the floor. In MHO, regulars require too much work and become too attached.

While it's true they can be a pain in the ass, they sure do help when business is slow! If a guy seems very receptive to you..make sure to give your name, invite him back, let him know when you work (helps to have a set, consistant schedule), if he returns..take good care of him, let him know how happy he made you by returning etc.. The length of time it takes to build your clientele.. depends on the guy...some are once a weekrs, others can only make it in once a month. Just put your feelers out there and it will happen. Good luck!

It usually takes me a couple months to get a good number of customers at a new place... But it depends on the club, I'm sure.

It really depends on the club. If you work at a club that attrracts more transient customers or business travelers, you won't really develop much of a clientele, and you'll have some low spots in your earnings during non events or off seasons in your town.

There are all different types of regulars. They don't come in one size fits all. The vast majority will have a girl or several girls as their favorite(s), and really don't try to get overly close. Of course some will have a longer shelf life than others.

The other type really likes you and plays more of the sugar daddy role. He probably has a bad marriage, is widowed, or wants to support you as long as you spend time with him which most of the time but not always involves being his girlfriend for pay. Sex may or may not be part of the deal, and with all regulars, there is a shelf life.

You have only been dancing a short time and seem to be trying hard and learning well and that is a good sign. You have to be a fairly good people reader and over time some guys will be drawn to you. That is why in the Dancer Wealth seminar we are taught to stay put at a club, and work a reasonable amount of days a week thus giving you time to get known in the club.

It may take some months realistically if you are working regularly and letting the guys who are interested and who spend money on you in the club know when you are working. Be friendly and good company to guys who seem to like you, spend money, and who are gentlemanly.

Some regulars will tip you on stage and buy 2 -3 dances from you every time you work. Others may bring you food, buy one dance, and tip you decently on stage. Others may spend $100-$200 on you when they come to the club, or just sit and talk and give you bill money. All of these types contribute to you bottom end.

I will caution you that one cannot "look" for regulars. They come when they come, and some prove more fruitful than others. The better ones WILL require an occasional lunch, and regular phone communications. They don't necessarily demand a lot of time, several minutes on the phone everyday and maybe lunch once or twice a month could do the trick. Some of these guys will last a month, and others may last a year or 2. But eventually they will want more, and when they want more than what you are willing to give, you let them go.

I will say though that nowadays in this ever slowing business, being the big fish and being popular in the club makes a LOT of difference when it come to having CONSISTENT earnings. Having developed a clientele OVER TIME can make the difference in the girls who go home with no money and girls who go home with several hundred dollars or more. Working in a club where every night/week you have to work from scratch over time is almost certain to yield nights where you barely make any money. Customer counts are lower now due to the economy and the conservatives running our government, and clubs are compensating for that by hiring more girls. More girls and less customers makes being a customer's favorite more important. Trust me on this.

Just hang in there, work a reasonable amount of days (at least 4) per week, let the customers know when you'll be working, and don't flake out and not go in on days you tell guys you'll be there, and you will eventually gain popularity in the club and get some money spending followers.

    I'm with VG...regulars are over-rated (unless you're on day shift, I hear)

I just don't have that kind of patience. There are plenty of guys that don't know me that have money too.

If you work at the same club long enough, you will see guys that have spent money on you before and may do it again. But that's not the same thing. You don't have to put up with their OTC nonsense.

Thank you for all your advice. Basically everything you've said is what I've been doing. During the week is mostly out of town business men but I always tell them if they're ever in this area again, come on in and see me...... Last night I did sorta have a regular. There was this big doctor's convention and this doctor who I hung out with the night before came back the next time night to see me and bought a VIP with me. That's when I got to thinking that maybe having some regulars would be good but I could see that they could be very demanding and would want a lot of your time and except more outside the club. That's something I'm not comfortable with and probably won't ever be comfortable with it. Any regulars I do get will most likely be the weekend clientele. Thanks for the advice!

I agree that it depends on the club. On average though I would say it takes a month to build up a handful of regulars or at least potential regulars. It really depends on the size of the club and how many dancers work there and how often the usual customers come into the club.

If the Dr. you mentioned lives in your area I'd say you might just have yourself a regular

    Agreement on the last statement.

There are only a few important ones(low maintenance)...I keep intouch with, but I prefer the "I'll see ya, when I'll see ya" sales pitch. Variety is sometimes good .

    HA..sounds similiar to booty call.

Don't concentrate on getting regulars. Concentrate on getting repeaters.
