wow. he wanted a girl .... she ll be so beautiful !!!
shiloh ? no comment on the name s choice lol
but , yeah ... 6- 6 - 06 would have been such a bad .....omen!!!
LOL I always knew they'd pick an er... "unique" name, but I always pictured Shiloh as a boy name? I don't know. They said there'll be no pictures for now. I bet it's a beautiful girl though.

yes i ve heard is some guys name in montana - shiloh -!
Good for them. I always like to joke about Pitt being an "Okie" (born in OK, raised in Missouri, actually) & Jolie's mama is from the Midwest. The best genes in America are from the "flyover" zone of the US.....

Odd that they would name their child after an April 1862 Civil War Battle that took place in Tennessee.Originally Posted by Rhiannon

^LOL
I did get to see parts of Tennessee where major Civil War battles were fought & they look peaceful....maybe the Pitt-Jolies are meaning to refer to subtle tragedy? (Would suit the dramarama preceding the creation of the baby.) If that's what they had in mind. I'm gonna go Google "Shiloh"....
I know a lot of dogs named Shiloh, but no people. There's even a popular series of children's books about a dog named Shiloh. It's a pretty name, but it sounds like a dog to me.

I believe its Hebrew for "The Gift" or something of that nature.Originally Posted by madmaxine

Who knew Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were such big Civil War enthusiasts?![]()
Hebrew for "the gift" would be ha'natan. Shiloh is not actually a word in Hebrew but it comes from the same root as Shalom (peace) and Shlomo (Solomon), and is generally held to mean "place of peace."

Wow, 6/6/06 wouldve been freaky. lol
Gosh, that baby is going to be gorgeous. But the name...![]()
Nouvel- hope it means something in a language other than french, because in french it's all over the place wrong.

Is it SHYLOW like the dog or SHELOW like a name or some f*ed up prnounciation like SHLOW!?
I'm assuming it's pronounced shy-low, like the town in Tennessee.
Scarlett, what does it mean in French?
Gosh, that baby is going to be gorgeous. But the name...
my thought's exactly!
It means 'new', but in that form it's only supposed to preced a word that begins with a vowel. But maybe there's some kind of Jolie-Pitt logic that I'm not privy to![]()

Y'know people keep saying this baby is going to be beautiful but...
Last I checked most of Angelina wasn't really hers.![]()

It's celebrity logic, which is different from normal people logic...Originally Posted by scarlett_vancouver

Actually, lots of people who aren't celebrities follow perverse logic, too--but their kids wind up hating them for giving them names that people f*ck with them about for the next few decades, and being weird parents.
It is ironic that Shiloh, one of the bloodiest battles of the Civil War, took place in a town named for peace--I never knew that.

I actually think it's a pretty name for a girl. Better to me than "Apple", anyways!

Or Dweezil Zappa, Frank Zappa's son. Apparently he hasn't let the name hold him back much.
Moon Zappa might not be so bad a name, depending on what kind of 'moon' Frank and his wife were thinking of.

I kinda like the name... it does sound like a dog's name, but it's pretty....
Take the road less traveled- just make sure you have a map.
Well, the full name was Moon Unit Zappa...Originally Posted by Djoser

The name is ok. But the sad thing is that this kid is going to have some super tremendous high standards/expectations to live up to. That's worse than any name they can give her. Poor kid.
Congrats to them, though.

The middle name makes no sense to me either. Jolie at least means something, well, 'pretty'. New? I guess 'nouvelle' does sound nice, but?? I thought Angelina spoke French.
Good for them. I'm glad it's a healthy baby.
