To whom it may concern,
I am writing to you in regard to an article published by a student of your university in 1998. Kelly Holsopple published an article entitled "Stripclubs According to Strippers:
Exposing Workplace Sexual Violence" (
http://www.uri.edu/artsci/wms/hughes/stripc1.htm).
Having attempted to contact her directly I have been advised that her email is no longer valid and thus have contacted your institution directly.
The article in question lacks substantial academic merit, but more importantly, I question Kelly's research and analysis methods and find her article to be substantially lacking in both. Her research, never fully detailed, fails to examine a broad research pool (she cites only 18 interviewees, and provides a vague at best and completely fabricated link at worst, to first hand exposure to the sex/stripping industry). That the university has not detected these oversights furthermore, I find appalling.
The following industry link discusses Kelly's article and provides a much wider research pool than Ms Holsopple bothers to investigate. This may be of some interest to you:

Please feel free to pass on this correspondence to Ms Holsopple at your convenience.
