    Default Flip-Flop shoes are tacky

    Hey
I ve noticed alot of dancers wearing flip flops on the floor. It looks so tacky and unclassy. i feel so out of place when im the only dancer in the club wearing dancing shoes. The management just dosent care. I think its horrible. I mean, come on, the guys who come in the club dont want to see cheap flip flops, thier wife at home wears em. WTF. Some girls even take em off on the stage to dance, and dance barefoot! its bad, bad taste.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

No you're not Sinn. A few girls at my club danced totally barefoot and they:

    1) looked worse (heels help with posture, stomach-flattening, etc.)
    2) were probably getting their feet completely dirty (GROSS)
    3) grossed me out

I think it's totally gross to dance barefoot, not to mention unsafe and unsanitary. It just looks lazy and tacky.

EWWW! That is so gross. There was actually a girl last week that took her shoes off as soon as she got on stage. I seriously wanted to tell her that is beyond tacky, but I kept my mouth shut, I am the quiet one that tries to stay out of drama where I work. When did these girls decide that is sexy, I totally missed that class in stripper school.

I also find it tacky. Likewise with sneakers, slippers, etc...

I think flip flops on the floor is ridiculous.

Bare feet too, but it seems to be a customer fetish around here. "Take your shoes off! Oooohhh....".

This girl at my club wears those flip flops with little one and a half inch heels. They're made out of clear material so she manages to pull it off. One time when we were bored and there was only one customer who wasn't spending money we dared a girl to dance wearing her fuzzy slippers. The barefoot thing is icky though, I don't even want to know what's been on that floor.

EWWW. I have never encountered this. Ha, the girls that do this only make the women wearing sexy stilettos look even better!
Although,,,i could see a cute beach theme as Cally suggests, but they would have to be very nice flip-flops with music to match. Also, another idea could be to decorate clear stilettos with beach-like flowers and studs or something to pull off that theme.
I used to wear the cute slippers that came in style to work while i went through the back to enter the dressing room! They are so easy in the summer to take on and off while coming to and leaving work! Ha thats all though!

As uncomfortable as they can be, my clear stilletto heels always make me feel sexy. It's all part of the transformation for me. The makeup, hair, outfit and then once I slip into those heels....stripper mode. I wouldn't feel sexy in anything else.

I think there there is a sizable segment of the male populace who find bare feet very sexy. I wouldn't be too quick to knock the bare feet approach. I personally like flip flops more than high heels.

We have a few girls who pull out the flip-flops or slippers during power hour. I think it's just plain tacky!

I worked with a girl who would wear white socks on stage, not only did she look stupid but whenever she had her legs in the air you could see the BLACK bottoms of her socks.

I can't beleive that any club manager would let a girl wear anything other than dancer shoes. The shoes are part of the job, imo, if you can't dance in them find another line of work. There are so many different heel heights so there's something that will work for anyone, personally I prefer nothing lower than 6 inches.

So old 'what's his name' is lowering his standards, eh?

Sinn, you need to get out of there, you deserve better! Of course, you can tell me the same thing since I went back to my old club, too, haha...

We actually had a dancer who wore flip-flops onstage!

She was my old roommate, Summer--who fortunately left after three weeks to go to Miami, then tried to come back in the same place with me again--no way...

She was one of the most depressing people to be around I've ever seen. Not only was her choice of apparel that atrocious, but her idea of dancing was to stalk relentlessly from pole to pole, back and forth, frowning at everyone, occasionally shaking her big ass at either pole.

She was so bad I actually complained about her to one of the owners (the goddamned flip-flops being the last straw), but hiring and firing was kind of out of his hands--it was the manager's department.

Fortunately for all of us, she went back to Atlantic City--so watch out, AC SWers!

I've seen a few dancers get all inspired and suddenly take off their shoes to be free and light-footed. Some look stupid, but I've known two who could pull it off. I understand about the stage maybe being a bad place for it, but one of them in particular reminded me very much of a forest or river nymph when she did--she could make it work, but she was really fucking good...

Well all I know, is if I've managed to figure out how to do back hand springs in my 5" stillettos without breaking my neck or an ankle, there is no excuse for flip flops or bare feet.

Wow I have never worked in a club where dancing in anything other than 5 inch or higher heels were allowed much less flip flops or barefoot. In fact, most clubs I have worked in would not even allow chunky heels no matter how high of a heel.

I've worked at clubs with broken glass ground into the floor & fleas jumping out the carpet (horrible, I know) so why anyone would not keep tall Lucite strapped onto their tootsies is beyond me.
Someone should put a bug in customers' ears about how germy flip-flops & bare feet are, & the management will listen to paying customers (if they won't listen to stage-fee paying girls, the a-holes.)

I think flip flops or going barefoot is tacky too. Heels or boots are part of the dolled-up stripper image. I've only gone barefoot on stage a couple times, and that was because I was busy doing lap dances and did not have time to put my shoes back on before going on stage. I usually take my shoes off for lap dances because it's more comfortable. When this situation happens, I try to put my shoes back on after the first song because I think I look much better in heels or boots than I do barefoot.

OH goodness!! Girl, get your cousin off of that stage! Seriously though, what type of outfit did she have on? What on earth would give her the idea that wearing Timbs are acceptable

Good Lord... They wore FLIP FLOPS?! That's horrible! I knew ONE dancer who wore sneakers... I think they were high healed sneaks? But, she was super skinny and a great dancer nonetheless.... with something wrong with her feet... So she got away with it and banked often.

Thta was a couple years ago... I can't imagine any other reason for it... I'd rather go home than not wear my heels!

Flip Flops are ugly enough when people wear them on the street let alone in the club. I don't think anyone no matter how pretty they are looks good in flip flops. Weren't they intended to be worn only at the pool, beach, and in a locker room shower? LOL.

I have worked with some girls who wear slippers on the floor or go barefoot. Again, that is the clubs fault for not enforcing a sexy ladylike dresscode in the club.

What is wrong with some club owners and managers anyway?

When I first started dancing I was told by management to always look nice when coming to work. To wear a nice blouse if I had on jeans, and always wear street heels with my jeans, to have my hair and makeup done, nails done and look like a lady at all times. We were told that since we are graced with good enough looks to get paid for them, then we need to always look and dress the best we can.

I wonder what happened to cause club management to lose sight of that.

I have a huge collection of flip-flops, but they stay where they belong...only to be worn with pajama pants or jeans (and the like).

I can't see wearing them on stage, though. Oh, and going barefoot...eww!

Lol, I personally HATE flip flops of any kind, but you know - each to their own! I dont wear stripper shoes or anything close and it works for me. Plenty of customers / people don't like stripper shoes or think they look sexy, but generally they just don't bother mentioning it if they're in a club where all the dancers are wearing them

One persons tacky is another persons turn on!

The foot fetish is evolutionary. Swollen or fat feet are a sign of poor circulation or poor general (reproductive) health.
