    Default My New Last Name

I very often get asked for my full name, probably because I'm generally honest about everything but my name and I'm very casual and approachable. My stage name is Lily, and when people ask for my real name, I tell them it really is Lily - hey, it is as far as they ought to be concerned! So sometimes they respond by asking what my last name is. This puts me in the position of saying no and breaking the connection, or making something up on the fly.

So I was talking about this with my roommate's girlfriend today and she said, "Hell, I'd tell them it's Potter." ROFL!! So my new full name, if anyone asks at the club, is Lily Potter. I seriously doubt many of my customers would get it, and those who do will hopefully get a laugh out of it. I'm a huge fan of the books, too, so I love this new name.

I hope somebody asks for my last name tonight so I can tell him I'm Harry Potter's dead mum.

I'm not afraid to look at customers like they are insane stalkers if they ask me my last name . . . but that is a truly funny comeback. Just wait until you say that to a huge HP geekboy, though.

Well, no one asked me my last name tonight... bummer. One guy asked my real name, but when I told him it really is Lily, he didn't pursue it to a last name. Oh well. I'll use it eventually!

And Scarlett, I LOVE the Lilliputian connection! Har. I do like Jonathan Swift, and I am 5'1"!

hehehe that's great. I always give them a stalker look and say "it's just ****, i'm like cher, i don't have a last name " but something like this might be better i can't wait to hear what the guy says that you say it to!

Back in my younger, stupider, and more smart-asstical days of trying to pick up girls in bars/clubs, I'd often tell girls that my name was Holden Caulfield.

On the occasions when some girls would get it, I'd have to find an excuse for my asshole-ishness.

If that doesnt fly, you can tell people your real last name is Brzezinski, and you are the unacknowledged love child of Zbigniew Kazimierz Brzezinski, who was the National Security Advisor under President Jimmy Carter and a Albanian-Ethopian stapler saleswoman from Fargo, North Dakota.

That should go over well in a Strip Club. Few would question it.

If you told me your name was Holden Caulfield, I wouldn't think you were an asshole. I'd love you forever and we could talk about literature and how completely overrated that book was. Maybe you could explain to me why men like it and women don't.

I had a great customer once who told me his name was Tulip. We had a wonderful evening and lots of laughs, and yes, I called him Tulip all night. He finally told me his name as he was leaving, but I figure if I'm going by Lily, he can go by Tulip if he wants to have a laugh!

I always just look at them like they're crazy and tell them something stupid like "nalgas" or "fembots don't have last names".

ROFL! PJ, you are awesome! How the hell do you come up with this shit?

Customers shouldn't be asking us our last names anyways, it's none of their damn business. When custies ask me my last name, I just tell them it's Sanders even though it's not.

I agree with Susan, asking for last names is stalkerish. I mean what's the point of asking that? Unless they are trying to catch you in a lie or something. I once had a loser customer spend about three days trying to find out my actual name and even reaching for my purse to find an ID. I always tell people my stage name is my real name also. But I never came up with a last name. I figured I'd always avoid the question. But it would be fun to have a sexy play one - like Foxx or something.

And I liked Catcher in the Rye also. Of course I was 15 when I read it. And it's no Crime and Punishment or anything but I still adore some of his others like Raise High the Roofbeams Carpenters and Franny and Zooey. Too bad Franny is a dork name - I could have been a real book nerd and named my daughter after a Salinger character.

How about if I told a girl that my name was Ignatius J. Reilly, but that my friends call me Iggy?

Would that work in New Orleans?
