I've been having back problems lately. Now, my shoulder pain seems to be clearing up somewhat, but I am hearing/feeling a creaking noise when I turn my head to the left. It's got me kind of panicking.
What causes this and how can I get rid of it?

That happens to me too on and off. It's usually my first alert that I need a new pillow. My second alert (and this is BIZARRE) is I'll feel a...gurgling i guess...sound and feel a tingle in the back of my neck. It's like water rushing from my shoulders to my skull.
So yeah, try changing your pillow if you're especially sore in the mornings. You may need a new mattress as well.

Kitty, have you ever had a spinal tap or anything done? My BF had it done, and for years and years he had that happen on and off - turns out they botched the spinal tap and there was fluid literally loose in her spinal cord. Just a note, as that sounded concern-worthy.
Thechaos fairy, what I would reccommend is a quick trip to the chairopractor. They are pretty inexpensive. Sounds like you just need your neck adjusted so everything lines up right.
