    Default Name choice

I appologize in advance if this has been asked before. (I did a search and found nothing relevant)

My question is: Is it safe to use my real name?

I am not looking forward to using a stage name. Although I use one for my modeling, I am not fond of using one for dancing. The name I use for modeling is Lucy. Which just sounds cheap in a strip club atmosphere.

Has anyone had any bad experiences with using their real names?

    Thank you for your time!

Depends on your situation. I wouldn't use my real name because I teach at the local college. When I teach, I look dowdy (hair in a bun, big loose clothes and flat shoes). I don't want to lose my teaching job (I went to school too long for that, even though the money really sucks). When Dancing - obvious choice of clothing (shoes make me soooo much taller), hair down to my waist, lots of make up and colored contacts.

If you don't have a problem with being recognized, then I don't see what it would hurt to use your real name.

I had a stage name for when the dj announced me on stage and then i told the custys my real name when i talked to them. But honestly when i go back to work i am picking a name to use that is not mine. You could have 2 fake names a stage name just for stage and a fake real name. like ginger/lucy i think thats what i am going to do next time i dance.

Using a fake real name is a pretty good idea. However, I know people who go to that club. Some will know my real name anyway.
That is, if they even recognize me. I deffinately do not sport the green mohawk these days..heh.

I should not even care if I feel ridiculous about using a fake name in front of people I may or may not know. *sigh*

Stage names are part of the package just like skimpy clothes and high heels. I do use my real name but that's only becuase I'm not very creative. Heh.

Well, if you see someone you know and they know your real name, it's not like they're gonna think you're lying to them... It's all a part of the job.

I would never use my real name. I've had it slip to a couple custy's before... and they thought it made me hot to moan my name during a dance... creepy!
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.

^^^ funny, I havehad that happen, grrr... Then they let the name "slip" in the club.. RIGHT.. Anyway, I asked them to keep up the mystery for everyone else.
I personally love choosing my own name in the club. I have a great rare real name which makes it all the more fun to pick a more subtle one in the club.
Please don't lick me, it tickles..

In San Francisco, I use my real name (its a nickname my friends all call me, short for my real name). I figured, enough of my friends or people I know would come in so it was better that I just use my real name. They would eventually blow my cover anyways...

But in Vegas, I have a whole different persona and she has her own name. I just know too many people in San Francisco to make the "Vegas" persona work here. It's all good. In a couple months, I will be working strictly in Vegas anyways. I am moving back to Washington and will be teaching as well so I want to keep the dancing and teaching as far away from each other as possible.

I guess if people really want to find out information on you, they will, no matter which stage name you use. And I agree, even if you are telling someone the truth, they never believe you anyways. I don't understand why guys refuse to believe me when I tell them I am single by choice. Whatever!
Are you "in" or "in the way"?

^^^^^^That's exactly what a stage name does for me. I became Lydia on the drive to work. It helped me separate the job from real life a bit. Now that I'm not dancing anymore, I miss "her." Now that I think of it, it would have been a completely different mind-f-ck to use my real name. I liked being that "other" person complete with the name.

In a way you've answered your own question. Every now and then a dancer has trouble with an obsessed customer. Using your real name makes it that bit easier for a stalker to find out about your personal life, and particularly where you live.

i have my dancing name (hazel) and then my fake real name (wendy). youre going to be asked constantly what your real name is.... i make guys buy a dance if they want to know my real name and then i give them the fake real one. so far i havent met any customers that id be worried about if they had my real real name, but why risk it?

I do the same ^^^ I have a stage name I tell the guys, and then if they beg for my real name, I give them some other fake name that sounds like a normal name and tell them that they're special and have to keep it a secret.
    Guys love it.

Ha! I just stopped using my real name which is Jowanna for Lucy

I have no problem with people knowing and using my real name as everyone I know knows I strip anyway and looking like I do I can't really get away with passing for someone else. If you want to remain fairly annonamous though it's probably best to use a different name!

Yea I think it helps separate the two identities from work and outside life. So I will go by Bridget . I really like to keep my private life to myself in the sense of not telling customers things that apply to life outside the club…
