    Boyfriend Bliss!

Hey everyone just wanted to share some good news. I have been strugling with the fact that i have to tell my boyfriend that i want to start dancing. Anyways, came clean to him last night and he was really good about the whole situation! The only concern he had was that it might cause problems for us Ex.(drinking, drugs, guys trying to take me home if i was drunk) I just reassured him that i wouldnt let that happen and that i dont plan on drinking much while working anyways. I dont do drugs but i've been around them lots before i'm pretty street smart and have a good head on my shoulders. I'm just really excited because this was all i needed to do before i can start dancing, OH except for getting a pair of sexy shoes that is! All in all at the end he suggested i get a pole to put up in the living room to practice on. I LOVE MY MAN, I LOVE MY MAN, I LOOOVE MY MAN!!

You're so lucky! I've been getting ready to dance for about 4 months (had to lose some weight). Hubby was very supportive at first, but the closer it gets to time to audition, the more he freaks out. It really sucks. We had a really long talk about the subject last nite and it turns out that he doesn't like the idea of me making other guys feel special - in any way! He doesn't like me to cook for other guys either - same reason. Anyway, hopefully we've worked it out - but I won't be surprised if the subject bites me in the ass again down the road. On the other hand, we really need the money, so .... I guess we'll see.

Congratulations, sexymomma! A supportive partner makes all the difference, it really does.

And SassyMom, just remind SassyDad that all those guys are going to go home with nothing but empty wallets while you go home to HIM! I can't imagine anything that would make him feel more special than that. And it's totally true.

Every guy is ok with it at first, but then suspicion sets in. They wonder how exclusive your treatment of him is. They wonder how much access other men have to you. Hero mode sets in when you come home upset because some guys treated you like shit, worse so if a guy tries to pull some nasty stuff.

I'd suggest learning how to totally differentiate your stripper life and your public life. I never gave my bf a lapdance, and he never saw me in costume.

Krazyjane, that is absolutely not true of EVERY guy out there. Plenty of them are secure enough in themselves and your relationship to avoid becoming jealous or possessive. My boyfriend doesn't have any of those issues; he knows the deal. He also comes into the club and watches me dance, and occasionally if I'm busy with customers, he'll get a dance or two from the other dancers.

I realize he's atypical, but there are other guys out there who aren't as insecure as the ones you describe. For you to say that "every" guy gets suspicious and jealous is wrong.

Hopefully he doesnt end up getting a jealous streak, but i think if you can keep reasuring them that you are the one in control and that the guys in the club are nothing more than a face in the crowd that you are dancing for then they will be cool with it. I dont think i could let him come in and watch me giving lapdances though. Hes cool but, if a custy were to try and grope all over me and he witnessed it he would definatley be flippin'. To sassy mom dont tell your man the nitty gritty youve been hearing on hear(contact levels, pushy customers etc.) Its best that you make it sound like your doing your show and giving some air dances and then leaving, they dont need to know some of the not so nice things you might encounter.

Thanks Yek and Sexymomma! I know it's kind of like being gay in the military - don't ask, don't tell.

That's awesome that he's okay with it! There's some truth in krazyjane's post, though... In my experiance, they're okay with it at first... Then, they quit thinking it's new and cool. I have a hard time doing this myself... But I would suggest NOT telling him much about your job... Like, give him the G-rated version and leave out the guys wanting to take you home.

The more I read this forum, the more I appreciate my guy. It's nice that I can unload the gory details on him and he just supports me or laughs with me. I know I got an unusually great one, but it's nice to see that confirmed!
