    Packing for a "business trip"

    I am so undecided...
I am heading abroad for two weeks (to work). And I am faced with major dilemmas. Like: big suitcase or smaller trolley bag? Should I bring all my stuff in case I have to adapt to a dress code I am not aware of, or just a selection? Do I need both a hydrating and a cleansing mask or would just one of them suffice for my skin to survive? And so on...
Anyway, in general I am very much a "travel light" girl. So much so, that I can go on holidays with the most tiny backpack.
Now, it is totally different. I have decided I will only bring one single "civilian" outfit (plus something to wear for working out), so as to have my packing allocation (20 kgs is the maw weight allowed) for my stripper supplies.
For now, I am pre-packing as follows: Getting everything into a huge suitcase and carrying along as well a smaller one (its size is small enough for it to be allowed on board). Then, once there, I will keep the huge suitcase in my room and get everything I need for the day to the club and back again in the smaller one.
What do you think? Any last minute advice? I am leaving in 30 hours.
    Any advice appreciated :-)

one single outfit? Wow , I am bad I bring an outfit for everyday+ extra incase things like a dress and jacket and like 8 pairs of shoes in addition to my work clothes. We are on oppisite ends of that spectrum, b/c i would pay extra to bring my whole closet!!lol Sorry I dont have any advice for you, I am just amazed you are only bringing one outfit!!

Are you flying? If so, I wouldn't pack EVERYTHING into one suitcase just on the chance that it gets lost. When I fly I mix my stuff up between two suitcases. Or at least pack one or two work outfits (with shoes) into the smaller one. I've learned the hard way. :/ Have fun on your trip.

Princess, that is a good idea! *unpacking and repacking, moving stuff to the smaller on-board suitcase*
    Thank you!

I am fond of the old travel aphorism:

"Take twice as much money and half as many clothes as you think you will need."

Although I have to admit that it is more clever than practical in many situations., and it certainly pre-dates ATMs!

I always carry a spare ID and credit card in a different bag. That way, if your purse gets stolen or lost, you still have $$$ and ID to board the plane home.

I always have, always will, pack way more than I ever use. I'd bring my whole apartment with me if I could. I'm always afraid that when I get there, I might need this or might need that. Good luck with your trip, stay safe and make lots of money!!!!

Wow,me too! I take so much stuff you would think I was moving or something…. Especially shoes cant have enough of those…I just feel like I might not be in the mood for just a few colors or styles of clothes so I end up taking A LOT of different colors and styles to satisfy my need for spontaneous choices

I'm like you. I pack ultra light. Everyone's invariable greeting to me is "That's all you brought?" However, even I would take more than one non-work set of clothes. Maybe one pair of pants that you can dress up or down, and a couple of tops in different degrees of dressiness. If I'm not sure about the weather where I'm going, I take lighter tops and at least one sweater I can layer.

You can also save space and prevent wrinkling by folding every item as you normally would, then rolling it up into a cigar shape.

    Don't forget your shoes.

    Have fun!

This trick works unbelievably well in my experience.

Sad ...plus marks on my legs!

Thanks to everyone! Buffie and Grace, I am so anxious about the Inside The Club part, that I do not even raise one eyebrow over the Outside The Club. I can always buy new OTC clothes over there (think ZARA, H&M).
I have just finished packing, and the bulk of what I have to bring is impressive. Allow me to be a baby for five more minutes, please!
Let us consider just one aspect of a dancer's appearance. Hair.
Normally, I only take a mini comb and a tiny bottle of silicone.
Now, let me enumerate what I have packed that is related to hair:
    Shampoo.
    Conditioner.
Mask, without which my hair will be fried after the third session of straightening.
    Straightening ceramic iron.
    Hair drier.
    Brush.
    Hairspray.
    Big bottle of silicone.
    Some hair ornaments.
    ...and so on...

On top of that (please bear with me one last second :-) ) my mystic tan is not really good. Of course I did not expect a perfect tan, but still... I will have to resort to body makeup to hide the marks on my legs. These stupid marks are caused by epilation. Not ingrowns, my skin is so sensitive that the very act of plucking a hair (picture the follicle getting ripped) leaves a small mark (often there are blood drops). Many small marks close to each other form a nightmare for me!

End of rant. In case I have been giving you the wrong impression about myself, I am very excited :-) And stupid marks on my legs are not affecting my mentality. They just add a little bit of excitement!!

Don't pack less than you think you need. I've tried that many times and always end up kicking myself after! I'd suggest packing more.

In my large suitcase (to check):
Street clothes, work clothes, miscellaneous toiletries (ie, not immediate necessities). NO valuables.

    In my carryon bag:
Two street outfits, one work outfit, shoes, toiletries (necessities), spare ID and debit card.

In my laptop bag (it's big enough to hold some extra things):
Laptop and accessories, camera, purse (with ID and debit card), spare outfit.

As far as I know the current airline regulations stipulate you can carry 1 carryon bag and 1 personal bag such as a purse or laptop bag. I stick my purse in the laptop bag and make sure I've got spare ID/debit card in at least one other bag, and carry ID and debit card in my pocket as well. Yes I have alot of ID's LOL. Can't have too many I reckon - I have passport, state ID and driver license, all of which are good for travel.
