    tempur-pedic mattress?

Anybody have one? I've got a bad back, and I'm sick of being in pain when I get up out of bed every day. Hubby and I paid $1500 for a Simmons Beautyrest pillow-top mattress a few years ago, and it SUCKS! In fact, I wonder sometimes if that isn't what is hurting my back. (Shoulda kept my cheapy $200 15-year-old mattress. Ha!) Good sleep is important to me , although I do hate shelling out a lot of bucks. I need some opinions before I bit the bullet. Thanks in advance.

Well, I know I want to buy one. Either that or a Sleep Number because I like a plush mattress and my husband likes firm. Considering we spend 1/3 of our lives sleeping I think it's a justifiable expense.

I have a memory foam mattress and I love it. I think they're just wonderful. Go to the store and check it out and you'll understand. They are soooo comfortable that it's pretty much ruined me for other beds. My husband got it at a Design Within Reach sale for about $1000 a couple of years ago; it's a queen. I'm sure you can find some deals.

i tried out the tempuerpedic, it's a little bit too hard. it feels good for a min but i could not imagine sleeping on it for many years. you really sink into it and i hate that.

what i have now is a miralux mattress with memory foam pillow top. i get the best of both worlds. mine was about 2500 there was a model above this about 4500 it was awesome! but soo much money!

I use to hve the memory foam

I hated it for one reason and one reason only. When you got hot at night ( say in the summer or when you are sick ) it held the heat. Im one of those people that needs a cool place in the bed to even sleep.

As far as back issues etc., Honestly I cant say I could tell a difference.I think at some point back issues require more then a great bed. Something like vicodin and an alignment

Quality bedding is essential though. nothing worse then sleeping on a bad bed.

I have a Tempur-pedic pillow and love it - I was always prone to waking up with random cricks in my neck, and I can't remember the last time that happened. Dunno if good for the neck automatically means good for the back, but one can guess - and I've also gotten rave reviews from my clients (therapeutic massage, the day job).

A friend of mine has a Tempur-pedic it's the best bed I've ever slept on. The only complaint I have about it is that its a bit heavier than it should be, I helped her move this weekend and it was a real pain in the ass to get up the stairs to her new place.

I don't know if its good to sleep on all the time (she loves it, but she also has back problems maybe its the cause). The once in a blue moon I sleep on it I always wake up feeling great. I'm thinking of getting one for myself.

A friend of my mom's has this mattress. She has a bad back (scoliosis) and bought this mattress because she thought it would do her good and she hated it. She just bought (a few months ago) a Simmons Beautyrest Pillowtop with visco foam in it. She loves it. It's firm, but not too firm, it gives the "forming" that the tempur pedic did, but the support is better for her.

If you get the tempur pedic, get it from a reputable dealer that honors the "money back guarantee". I think it goes for 90 days, and if you don't like it in that time, you get your money back.

We're getting our new mattress delivered next week. It's the Beautyrest with pillowtop visco foam, as well. It cost a lot, but you cannot put the price on a good nights sleep!

Spending that kind of $$ on a mattress wasn't a priority at the time so DH and I got a 3" temperapedic foam cover for our regular mattress, it was $100 bucks at overstock.com it's AMAZING! If the money was flying around I'd buy the real thing in a heartbeat, but the foam cover is more than good enough for us.

Ipersonally dont like the temperpedic matresses because they are too hard and make me hot. There are matresses out there made espacially for people with back problems. The matresses have a metal band through them which helps support the back. They are pretty pricey, mostly made by name brand companies, but from what I hear they are worth it. You are not supposed to sleep on one if you dont have back problems thought, because they can actually give you problems.
