Go with the Mynx. Anything you get at Spencer's is going to be a cheap silly novelty; you can't do any serious pole tricks on it. I have a Lil Mynx and I love it - with the ceiling mount in place, I can climb to the top of it and swing around hard, and it won't fall down on me.

Nope- the demo video seems to show the extent of what you can do, lol. Not much.

These pole are more of a novelty item than serious dancing poles. Like has been said above, i wouldnt bother, go with little minx.

The peekaboo is advertised as entertainment, its not even for spinning in.

I have the mynx pole and luv it. The peekaboo pole doesn't look that safe - it's relying on tension to stay in place so what if you didn't extend it enough - that pole would slip and you could crack your head open or break your neck.

    yea Lil' Mynx ftw

I'm prob gonna go with it, its reviews are good and it has a smaller floormount piece than platinum stages' portable version so thats a major plus to me (I do alotta footwork really close to the pole).

Just think of this... you get what you pay for. Why would every other pole be $200+ but this one is $80. This one is ment for holding and prancing. The others are ment for serious dancing.

If you don't mind it coming dislodged at the wrong moment and going right through your drywall or a window! If you are looking to do anything besides the most tame tricks or exercises go with a sturdier pole.

^what they all said....it's purely novelty. it even says "not to touch it"/???? WHAT!?

I've seen them in person, it's cheap aluminum, and there are no pads on the bottom/top, just metal..super slippery.

what's sad is people are buying these things and then selling them for 125 or more on ebay and not disclosing that you can't even use them!

My friends bought me one as a joke. Mine actually okay for fun stuff, but nothing serious. We bring it out at parties, get tipsy, have a good time. Mine does have a rubber padding on the one end to ensure that there is good grip.I wouldn't dare hang from it! I would love to have a mounted pole for serious practice!

I am going to tell you from personal experience, DO NOT BUY THAT SHIT!!!! I bought one online in January and got it out all excited. Put it together, watched the super cheesy video - which tells you not to even lean on the pole, let alone attempt any pole tricks. It Is just a novelty decoration pole as everyone says here. It is just a propt while dancing to GENTLY hold on to. But being the rebel that I am I put the pole up, tightened the friction mounts until i deemed it "safe" and tried one of my simple spin/turn things I do. Pole MOVED a great deal. Not Safe. Then, stupidily, I climbed the pole (oh you can't climb that high on the pole or you will dislodge the top friction mount) and it did not feel safe or sturdy at all. The cheap price got me too, but it is not even worth that. Save the money for a lil mynx. I have a lil mynx also, but have not installed it yet. Luckily I was able to return it to the Spencer store w/o a prob. Save yourself the hassle!

I figured it would be a given fact that if the pole is $80 its not safe for anything but a prop. I mean is it not a given when every other pole out there is $200+ ?

Someone mentioned on here about the pole cat. I checked out their web site and viewed the video for it. www.mypolecat.com
it is $195 for the pole and that includes shipping. Supper stury, the girl in the demo video was doing all kinds of tricks! I am definatly buying one!!! I am sure they will ship to Canada!
