    Default PMS weight

    I have the worlds worst PMS! I gain a whole size ,sometimes two sizes and NONE of my clothes fit !!! It's making me crazy because jeans that normally hang on my body and I could pull them of without unbuttoning now wont go over my hips!!!! Is this normal ? Does it happen to anyone else ? How can I get rid of all this weight that seemed to show up overnight ?

    And did I mention that I feel irrational and emotional for no apparent reason right now? Ugh.

    Watermelon is a tasty fun summertime diuretic...black tea, too.

    Major bloating can be a gradual warning sign of endometriosis. Be warned.

    I know I don't have endometriosis because I am religious about the "well woman" exam every year and I have never had any problems....I'm just so frustrated about the water weight because NOTHING fits and I really hate stretch pants....besides, bloating is no fun on vacation and even my face seems puffy.....I will try black tea though . Thanks....let me know if you think of anything else that works quickly.

    There'a a Traditional Medicinals tea called 'Weightless' than always helps me when I'm feeling bloated. They also have a 'PMS Tea' which has some diuretic properties, and helps with other fun symptoms as well. You can find it at health food stores or in the natural foods section of a good grocery store.

    Perversely, I get bloated too, but I look forward to the week of PMS since my boobs get noticably bigger! Hope there's a similar bright side for you . . .

    Twister, I get EXTREME bloating during PMS. I will sometimes retain as much as 10 pounds of water. After my BA surgeries, I gain 20 lbs of water from the swelling. My doc had to put me on prescription diuretics.

    My best remedy has been lots of fruit salad with watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, and pineapple. All great natural diuretics. I have also made homemade cabbage soup and have eaten on that for a couple of days. Their are lots of recipes out there but I try to use as little salt/sodium as possible. I usually make it with chicken or ground turkey, white cabbage, celery, tomatoes, carrots, onions, leeks and lots of spices. I also drink a double strength hot tea at night before bed.

    Or you could go on the opposite spectrum and do a strictly protein diet for a few days. You'll pee all that water out.

    I'm glad it's not just me..I was starting to think that holding this much water is really unusual.. I am getting ready to travel tomorrow for two weeks so it's going to be difficult to control my diet too much and it doesn't help that I am craving salt right now .....I'm going to try to find those teas......and hopefully I'll be able to fit into my jeans...and on the plane

    It's not just u. I too get terrible bloating and cramps. Since I started back on birth control it hasn't been that bad. I also try to stay away from caffeine and greasy foods or stuff loaded w/ sugar. Drinking water helps to flush out the system pretty quickly for me.

    I get the worse bloating and cramps... I cant even crawl out of bed on the first day of my period without falling over. I feel so fat and icky.. nevermind going through a super tampon every half hour from the bleeding I find that 2 extra strength midol help though and by the second day im up and feeling sexier then ever.

    I know the feeling ....once a month I wish I was a dude. On the upside ,the week after my period I am seriously skinny. It's just weird how much my weight fluctuates. I suppose it's normal from what you girls are telling me....whew!

    I gain about 4 to 8 pounds each time of the month and I don't even want to leave my house. This is probably the least healthy of the suggestions in this thread, but I take pills with panabrom and caffiene (like Midol, Pampirin,other OTC water pills) and I also chug caffiene drinks the whole time as my diuretic.

    god Twister, I am thinking the exact same thing..... My entire body puffs and bloats up to no end.. Its so sick... I am naturally thin, but i feel just yucky and saggy everywhere.... god i hate it..... sucks to be a girl sometimes.. i just try to workout and drink water, eat fruit, and pray for the damn thing to be over quickly...

    Caffine is the worse thing to drink when your pmsing as it causes bloating.. and if your taking midol n stuff it already has SOME in it. Thats just my experiance anyway. Nevermind caffiene really upsets my stomache as it is..

    I have been using apple cider vinegar and I think that along with everything else seems to have helped me lose like half a pound.....It's just not enough. Going tanning helps me feel a little thinner.....but who am I kidding I just am ready for the hormonal BS to be over.
