Default what kind of extensions are these???

im sorry, i KNOW theres been alot of hair extension posts lately...but i need to figure out what these things are...
i have pinch braid extensions now with synthetic hair, but im gonna change them out next week. this girl at work today had some type of extensions in her hair that looked so good, but i wanna know what kind they are so i can figure out if theyre gonna damage my hair. i couldnt really ask her bc she dont speak good english, but i did get her to let me get a good look at them...
theyre not tracks, they are single extensions, kinda like my pinch braids. but instead of them being braided into the hair (less then a half inch) like mine are now, each extension looks like it is attached with some small piece of black plastic or something. the girl said they were supossed to last like 6 months. when you rub your hands over her hair, you cant really feel them a whole lot.
does this method sound familiar to anyone? anyone ever had it? how was it in your hair?

Sounds like they might be bonded with wax. If so i think that this is a pretty safe method and wont do too much damage to your own hair.

Also, when i say wax i dont think its the same as candle wax. A girl in my club has similar looking extensions and she told me they are wax bonded but she uses striaghtners and normal high heated hairdryer so it cant be the same as normal wax or it would melt.
Will ask her for some more info if you like and get back to you after the wend, x

Sounds like either fusion or microlinks.

It sounds like wax... that's how I get mine done. They've never damaged my hair, but they've never lasted 6 months either. The longest I've ever left them in was I think about 4 months. They're much cheaper to get done than Great Lenghts, which is why I use these. You can blowdry them like normal, but you can't use heat tools like straighteners directly on the bonds (which is ok because the bonds are really close to your scalp- I don't use my straightener that close to my scalp anyway). You also have to use clear shampoo, and you can't use conditioner directly on the bonds because anything slippery or too moisturizing can make the wax bonds slide out- this is actually one way of removing the extendions- you just load your head with conditioner and slide them all out.
Take the road less traveled- just make sure you have a map.

Does anybody else find it ironic she said "she dont speak good english"
I would say go into the place you want it done and ask them about it.

sounds like what I have and they are fusion extensions. .. if I take care of them they are to last anywhere from 3-9 months.

Im seriously saying 3 months here , just because they tend to slide down a bit and i had shorter hair. Not much more hair to slide down on before it slides right off.
