    Default looks like dirt

im using a combo of laying out in the sun and self tanner. I'm naturally tan as you can see in my avatar, but i want that healthy glow (and i want my body to apear smoother). usually before i apply the self tanning lotion i will scrub my body with a wash cloth to prep my skin. after a few days i notice the tanner looking flakey kinda like i missed a spot in the shower!! it looks so nasty!

does any one know of a good exfoliator that will keep me tan and get rid of the dirty look thats keeps creeping up on me?

i've heard a sugar and olive oil mix works well, any one?

I use sugar and olive oil as a body exfoliator on a regular basis. The sugar makes you smooth and the oil softens you up! I find that the tanner really fades fast doing this though, so you may need to apply more often.

However, well mosturized skin tans much better naturally then dry skin, so the sun will make up for it.

Senorita Margarita scrub by Philosophy is my pick for spring/ summer. You use it on dry skin then rinse off. It smells awesome too so with the aromatherapy aspect it has a double positive effect . My fall/winter pick is by the same brand. It is Gingerbread one. Both these scents have a 3 in 1 body washes to match the scrubs. They are all too yummy for words

Victoria's Secret has some delicious smelling scrubs. They seem to exfoliate a bit more than others I've tried. However, if you have sensitive skin, they may be too harsh. I picked up one at Old Navy for $3, which was very mild and smelled like white chocolate and orange.

I recently purchased a Neutrogena Micromist ST Spray at Target which included a free scrub. I haven't tried it yet, but at least it was free!

If you live near a beach, the easiest and best solution is to pick up a handful of sand and slide it across your skin.

I love Victoria's Secret Intensive Body Scrub. I like the philosophy ones too.

Sugar and olive oil is a good inexpensive home version, but the Philosophy scrubs are pretty good too if you have a little money to spend. Me, I just take the same St. Ives Apricot Scrub that I use on my face and go over my body with a little of it once or twice a week. I also massage baby oil into my body in the shower and then wash it off to help moisturize. But I don't use any kind of tanner, this is just for soft skin.

Also, good moisturizing trick... use conditioner instead of shave gel!
