Default How many of us have never fallen on stage?

After reading Cinnamon Kisses topic about a wig problem I got to thinking about something. How many dancers have NOT fallen on stage? I know I have done it a couple of times over the years as have most of the dancers I know well.

So, are there any dancers here who have been working for at least a years time who have never taken a spill on the stage?

Oh, years ago when I was flexible my entire foot slipped out of my shoe and I fell, clumsily, right into a split. Everyone applauded. It was awesome. And hilarious.

Hmmm....I haven't fallen on a stage....but I DID fall on my bottom while doing a show on a regular bar floor.

    Does that count?

Nope, I've never fell on stage. But..once when this one girl broke the stage [enter other thread here http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sho...lamming+heels] My heel got into the crack and I stumbled a little. That was it..and that scared the crap outta me!

Oh yes. I've done it. Once when I had just started at the Foxy Lady in RI and all the housemoms and other girls were still being mean to me and I had only ever danced on a big stage by myself and was used to putting on a real show....I suddenly had to get used to dancing on small stages with another girl. I tripped over the other chick's shoe and just lost it--went full-out sprawling across the stage, with no hope for any kind of a save whatsoever.

Not one of my finer moments.

Other than that, I recall a few stumbles with last-second saves.

If it makes anyone feel any better, George Balanchine is said to have favored among his dancers those who were known to fall, as it implied a real commitment to the movement being executed.

Never fallen, knock on wood. Stumbled plenty of times, but always managed to remain upright.

I did, however, do most of a stage show with a long piece of toilet paper trailing from the bottom of my stripper shoe... hotttt.

I've never straight up taken a spill on the stage, but stumbled, yep (darn 7-inchers!). Shoe(s) come flying off, check. Almost fallen off the pole during a trick, you betcha.

I am a klutz, I have fallen down the stairs off the stage, but my favorite moment...

Our stage as rails around it. I was standing with my back to the rail, holding on, smacking my ass on the bar. Hands slipped, and KABOOM face first in the middle of the stage.

On stage, no. On the floor I've probably fallen about 5 or 6 times. And I've been completely sober each time, too. I also fell down the stairs leading from the stage.

Oh yeah. I've fallen on the stage, on the floor, out of chairs... and I'm not even a boozer! That's my sober genius at work .

    CLASSIC!!! I literally lol'ed.

This thread is one big JINX, y'all! Beware!!!

See, this kind of thread is I can't yet bring myself to wear strapless shoes, even though I love the way they look. I know one of 'em is bound to be airborne at some point in the night. And Cally, I've come sooooo close to kicking poor innocent lil' PLs in the head/nose/nuts - it's really just a matter of time.

Knock wood: I have not yet fallen ON stage, per se, but on either my first or second night I did conspicuously eat shit coming down the stairs off the stage - stepped on something invisible but deadly. Everyone was very concerned and sweet about it. I felt christened, or initiated, somehow.

I stumbled once onstage because the heels of my 7-inches were too worn out. I bought new shoes the next day.
I couldn't afford to mess myself up onstage!

I've done plenty of stumbling and several all out falls- like crash landing kinda BAM falls. Only once on stage though. But all the guys, their jaws dropped (I was trying to twirl and got a little ahead of myself). I leapt back up like a figure skater and said "I'm ok!" hee hee, all smiley-embarrassed. Then the DJ had to be like "Oh my god, are you ok?!". Totally sober too. Whenever I stumble though, especially when we're walking back to the CR, the customers smile like "sweet, she's wasted!".

The first club I worked at here in Nashville didn't tell me that the ceiling leaked before I went on stage to audition. I was doin' my thing and went to the front of the stage and busted my butt big time. You would never know the water was there unless somebody told ya, and I felt like an idiot. The same club had carpeting that was coming up from the floor and I caught my shoe under part of it and down I went.
They were in desperate need of a major revamp, but I'm pretty sure it still hasn't happened. Oh well, not there anymore.

Never fell onstage but I did manage to land on my ass during a private dance. I was trying to get all upside down and shit and just landed on my head.

I have slipped out of a few shoes on stage but always catch myself. Knock on wood.

Damn a stripper blooper tape would be entertaining.

I've never fallen on stage, but I'm sure it's bound to happen at some point. I have, however, kicked a bartender in the back and knocked the wind out of her (completely unintentional) and at this new club where the guys are only about 2 feet away from the pole, I've kicked a full beer directly into a dude's lap. Neither were pleased...

i make it a point to fall down at least once a week. i've kicked entire tables over before, both during dances and on a side stage. i have fallen up the stairs, down the stairs, int he dj booth, screwed up a split and fell to the side half way down, tripped on my long robe and bit the dust, lost several shoes, nailed a guy right between the eyes, fell down while getting up, fell down while attempting to go to my knees, fallen out of chairs, tripped while doing dances, and i was sober every single time. you could make and entire bloopers tape on my mess ups

btw we do need a bloopers tape!

Never fallen onstage, but fallen down the stairs leading off. I can always manage a good save on stage, despite numerous stumbles. Have fallen while walking on the floor. I've been doing this three years and it hasn't happened too many times! Have only lost 1 shoe once while hangin on the pole. Have not kicked a custy yet either.
