You are correct, but what if all your customers followed you to the bar or restaurant you went to with your co-workers to unwind and possibly bitch about the jerks they had to deal with that day, or problem customers.

And every time you said "Yeah, and how about that guy who smells bad, what a disgusting pig he is", one or more of those customers who followed you there would interject and say "Hey, hold on a minute, I don't smell bad!"

It would get old very quickly...

If the dancers want customer feedback, they can go ask for it in Customer Conversation, that's what it's there for.

Stripping isn't normal business though. Call me ungrateful, but I would never shed a tear if one of my regulars vanished. They are often more work than they're worth. My favourite customers? The ones who pop in, once, drop over $300 on me, don't touch, don't say one offensive thing. Thank you to them. Not the ones who want 'to know me'. To 'help me'. It's hard to develop real comraderie with men more than twice my age paying to grab at my tits and look at me naked. They don't all bother me, not by any means. I didn't really mind cleaning horse stalls either. But that doesn't mean I enjoy their company oh so much. I enjoy the money it brings me. Shocker! Maybe if a customer came in with a box of my favourite cookies, spent a bunch, never even tried to grab, smelling great, didn't try to juice me for every little personal detail about my life...yeah, have yet to meet one, but I'll let you know. Of course I don't expect to. I just expect to do my job, do it best as I can, for an appreciative audience. Without getting groped and grabbed by the guys that LM was referring to- the seriously creeping guys (thankfully the minority).

^^^I was a regular with an ATF for a while who disappeared from the club for 8 months - thought nothing about it. When I returned, I went up to tip her on the stage just to say "hi" with a smile - and totally threw her off her game, she was shocked, remembered my name and was so flustered she couldn't finish the dance. As I bought dances from her, she kept asking me questions about why I stopped and seemed really upset - I realized that I probably should have told her that I was going to take some time off from the clubs so she wouldn't be offended.

Molly, I agree with you re: regulars who are grabby.

Personally I never let my hands get near the dancer, and I politely move my arms and hands when she needs me to in order to get in her next position. When a gal sits on my lap to talk, hands and arms stay clear of her.

I have found a couple of gals who get offended by my preference and eventually tell me that I make them feel uncomfortable. Similarly in business, if they are a good vendor, I make concessions.

Although now that I think about it, I'd never ask a dancer to "make concessions" for me. Either I like what she does and buy more dances, or I politely thank her and pay for a dance I really didn't enjoy.

Great. However the sex industry is, in many ways, a sui generis business relationship. I doubt your customers behave the way LM described.

I've also found it is very bad business to complain about any customer, no matter how bad, in front of good customers, no matter how loyal they are.
Dude - neither you nor anyone else here is my customer, and I doubt you are LM's either. We don't complain about our bad customers in front of our good one's (well, I tell an occasional amusing anecdote, but that is different). Until you are paying me you are just some guy squatting on a dancer board. As I have said in the past - if you want dancers to suck up to you, that is why we have strip clubs. There is likely one within a 10 minute drive in which you will get all the sucking up you can handle. If you happened to stumble into my club, I would probably do it myself. That is what strip clubs are for. That is not what this board is for. Once again, it is for US not YOU. We don't have to amuse you, charm you, entice you, etc. If you want to be full out retarded about it, you are likely confusing our role here.

And yes, forums are great places to rant and vent. It's also a good place to get constructive feedback.
They are also good places to exchange stories and chat. Are you saying that we should not use this board for the purpose it was intended - that is to exchange our ideas and commentary about the business - because it may offend you? The argument that customers can read this, so we should suck up to them seems silly to me, because it seems to argue that the community should exclude you, when your postings say pretty clearly that you want to be part of the community. So suck it up, or take your toys and go home. Not that I make the rules around here (she says climbing down from her high horse).

    Jenny,

I think you mistook my post about business relationships as replying to LM's orignial post. What I saw was a good rant thread on customer problems and Bridgette wrote a thoughtful expose' on problems you can run into when you think your customers care about you.

When writing my response, I wanted to expand on Bridgette's post without disagreeing with her, and she politely acknowledged me (Thanks!).

Yes, I am not your customer, and probably never will. And this forum is pink and dedicated to supporting strippers and helping get them through their day.

And the forum is full of different personalities - those tend to be respond with emotional help, others try to provide some insights that might help them the next time they go to work.

Then there are those who like to be inciteful. While they help keep the discussion amusing from time to time, lame personal attacks aren't funny.

I find allowing customers to have a voice helps keep the discussion balanced and more interesting. I also believe that maintaining a balanced discussion helps the forum be a powerful aid to improve the atmosphere of clubs everywhere.

I know I've learned a lot about what dancers like and dislike and take it with me to the club to be a better customer. SW helps clubs everywhere be populated by better customers. It promotes SC's to a target audience of polite customers so they can enjoy themselves more.

And making offensive posts to polite customers 2,000 miles away does have a karma affect on the next polite customer you face in your club. So to avoid your ensuing rant when that customer is offensive to you instead of polite, I thank SW for the "ignore" function.

Dude if you are offended by me telling you that we don't owe it to you to suck up to you on a message board, you are too easily offended. I am happy to deal with my own karma.
I find allowing customers to have a voice helps keep the discussion balanced and more interesting.
All due respect - you are a customer. OF COURSE you do. That's like me gandering over to the blue side and saying that dancers make it more interesting. I'm sure they would be wildly shocked to find that I think that.

As for the ignore function - you do what you have to do.

My comments were polite? LOL I thought they were fairly smartass Perhaps I'm missing some sarcasm in your post

Well, regarding the "customer input makes it more interesting" comment: not really. At least not for us. It really only makes it more interesting for YOU.

Regarding the whole customer / karma thing: Back to the "customers and strippers don't really care about each other" point.

Yes, sometimes we WANT customer input, and we know where to go to get it. Just like yall sometimes WANT our input, and you know where to go to get it

There are sections of this site that are non-gender-biased.

    It's SC customer 101, not stripper 101.

I described your original post as "a thoughful expose'" - using a thinly veiled euphamism for sarcasm (actually, I understood your rant and thought you had some valid points but with the regular rantish overwhemling strenghth). I love a good rant from time to time.

    To those who are arguing:

First two paragraphs were tongue-in-cheek, not entirely serious.

    It was a FLIPPING RANT!

If you actually READ my last paragraph, I thanked all good customers and EVEN SPECIFICALLY NAMED AND THANKS A CUSTOMER... which means I don't see you as 'not being human', it means you have to show me kindness and I'll appreciate it.

To those accusing me of treating customers like they're subhuman. baby, I was treated like I was subhuman long before I treated you like you were.

This is a stripper board. Arguing with us is like being prolife and going to a prochoice community and getting pissed when they talk about 'damned prolifers'. DONT READ IT THEN.

This was a rant about BAD CUSTOMERS - not YOU. If you think it was about you - you are a BAD CUSTOMER.

    I apologize for nothing.

EXACTLY what I was thinking. The guys who feel the need to protect themselves (regarding the rant) are the kind of guys you don't even want to deal with in the first place.

    Lilith, that's priceless. Rock on.

But lately, is it just me or is EVERY THREAD that centers around a dancer's vent or complaint or problem almost immediately turning into a debate over whether she/we have the goddamned right - from the customer's perspective - to her feelings and opinions? What the hell is going on here? Three or four posts in (to several recent threads that I've noticed) and we've already got some guy essentially jumping up and down, waving his hands and saying "But what about me, me, ME!"

^^No shit. Unfortunately, this is by far NOT the first time we've seen this. Once suitably chastised, they usually quiet down though

AZ, your sarcasm was not lost on me, hence the sarcasm remark with smiley
I can't help my communication style; sometimes it can be a little "strong". I often hear such comments as "well tell us how you REALLY feel". No one's ever accused me of NOT doing so. LOL

Maybe a little respect from the punkettes on the boards full of wise ass remarks and then wondering why no one wants to go to strip clubs anymore?

    Make your own fucking graves.
Oh Lord, yeah they should rule in favor of closing down strip clubs that are mainly fronts for brothels. The women are there to make money. Why can't you just respect that? I don't go to a guy who fixes my car expecting a date, do I? I don't expect to reach down my lawyer's pants and grab his dick just because he is my lawyer, do I? They are supposed to be dancing on stage or dancing at your table for a fee. That's all it's about. Entertainment. Or that's all it should be about.

Guys not go to strip clubs anymore. Yeah, right. Maybe if they cut off their dicks or took some more estrogen, they wouldn't want to see naked/half-naked women.

PS What makes you think that just because judges of normal society aren't around means that you can do what you damn please? If a tree falls in the forest and nobody is around, doesn it makes a noise? If you go to Thailand and have sex with a 9-year old girl because there are no age limit laws, does that mean that you're not a pedophile? If you grope a stripper in a way that would make you homocidal if you saw your wife/girlfriend/daughter/granddaughter getting that treatment, are you still not a sex offender because strippers are women who you can show your real self to? How can you still consider youself above those rapists in PMITA prisons? At least some of them have admitted that they're sex offenders! Boys, think about how you act when trying to impress a girl vs. letting it go in a strip club. Is chivalry nothing but a facade?

Sometimes I can spy a gal who is clearly having a LM moment. It's nice to buy a couple of dances without even exchanging introductions just to clear this vibe from the room. Just last week I bought two dances from a girl like this who is so not my type I wouldn't say "hi" to her if we sat next to each other on a violently turbulent and crowded plane ride.

LM - the check is in the mail, I hope you feel better. Let us know when you want us to talk to you again.
This is called "stripperweb" for a reason. It's a JOB.
