    Default Shampoo for redheads

Unfortunately, I'm not a natural redhead So I spend copious amounts of money dyeing it, and I need to find a shampoo that will keep the colour form fading so quickly. I've tried the John Frieda shampoo+conditioner, but I don't like the way it makes my hair feel (not as super-soft as it normally is). Any recommendations??

I brighten my red up sometimes with the Artec Color Depositing Conditioner. I buy mine at Ulta. I just use it after I rinse out my regular conditioner, since it doesn't really moisturize that well.

I colored my hair an amazingly bright copper shade for years. I found the only way to keep the color fairly true was to make my own color depositing shampoo.

I went and picked out a close shade of "Special Effects" hair dye and mixed it with baby shampoo and then used it maybe once a week. It also helps to "blend" your roots between colorings.

I do a henna treatment on my hair once in a while when it needs conditioning.

^ you don't do that on top of chemically dyed hair though, do you? I thought you risked massive breakage by treating dyed hair with henna?

I got this shampoo, I think it was by redken...anyway, it's specifically for red hair, and the conditioner actually puts color back in your hair. And it leaves your hair super soft.

I used to have a deep blood/cherry red shade (think Jean Grey in the latest x-men, exactly that color) and it was sooo hard to maintain. The Artec color depositing shampoos do wonders! Kept my shade up very nicely and my hair silky soft.
