Default Is there as much money in Vegas as they say?

    hey girls

I've been dancing now for about a year... and I'm thinking of moving to LASVEGAS!!!
I was just wondering if some of the girls that are dancing there could give me some advice before going.. and give me an average number of how much they make a night.. or day or whatever.. I have no idea how working in Vegas is like so i want some info.. I'm sure there is money in there and I'd like to put some of it in my pockets
right now i work for 10$ a dance and i make around 600$ to 800$ depending what day is.. so if i can make more then that inn Vegas.. wooooo! i can't wait to go..

i think it's a saturated industry and hence demands a higher calibre of dancer - can be kinda cut throat!!

also, when you walk down the streets, there are constantly men handing out leaflets for private dancers so competition is really really high!

if you've got the confidence then go girl!!

I'm confident.. I'm just hope i make money..
what I'm scared of is not getting a job.. or having a hard time finding one..
I heard the clubs there aren't like the others.. like you have pass an audition while here all you do is show up and work

Not all clubs. When I visited Vegas, I checked at the Rhino to see if I could get hired- and I was basically told to get my sheriffs card and come in and work.

I tought the same thing, so I said, "Don't you want to inspect me or something?" and he said "No, you're fine" This was during the wintertime so maybe it had something to do with a shortage of girls?

I was talking to a few dancers in Vegas and they said its not the hype its screamed to be. They said its nice and its fairly consistant money but there are still nights you pay more in fees then what you make and there are nights you can make $1000. Just depends on your hustle and your club.

Yeah sounds about right. I don't think there's a holy grail for money right now. I'm sure I won't see a $1000 night in the mid size city where I work, but at least I hit a figure consistantly and theres not as much competition.

I still dream a little bit about "going to the show"- which for dancers is usually Vegas.

A lot higher. More like $20 minimum to the Dj- huge house fee- and you have to tip everyone. There are other threads here about tip out. It's obscene really.

Basically you have to tip, because one hand washes the other. Everyone has something to do with your bottom line hun. You want the bouncer to send you to the high-roller's table?, you better be taking care of him. Etc. Etc. Etc. Its like that in plenty of places, not just Vegas. You just haven't seen it/lived it...yet

    Best of Luck BTW

It's Vegas - it's not your hometown. Everything costs more there. You will pay more in fees and tips to employees. You will go home some nights with LESS $$ than you paid to work. There will be a few $1k nights, but frankly not enough to average the consistent $600-800 you say you're making now. If you make $1k one night, and $0 the next, your average for the 2 nights is only $500. Not so hot.

Vegas money is really only good when there's something going on in town - ie, good convention or event. Otherwise, not worth the hassle.

You will work with 200-400 girls on shift at night.

Don't mistake naivete for confidence. They are not the same.

Vegas is NOT the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow everyone likes to make it out to be.

DO A SEARCH USING THE SEARCH LINK AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE. You will find TONS of info about Vegas on this site if you just DO A SEARCH.

Question: Is there as much money in Vegas as they say?
    Answer: For strippers, NO.

Bridgette is exactly correct. When it's good, it's really really good; when it's bad it's awful. There huge clubs with an ungodly amount of dancers. You WILL have to hustle. Vegas is the land of 'wanna dance' because you just can't afford to sit with someone. It's non-stop, stressful and not always worth the hassle.

I live in LA and occasionally go up for a weekend. But some weekends aren't worth the cost of travel.

Futurmillionaire, where are you working now? I would love to be averaging $600-800 a night. If you're making that much, you're doing better than a lot of dancers nowadays and I would stay where you are. If you go to Vegas, you will have to pay for your sheriff's card, business license, motel room, food, transportation to and from work, etc., so I think you're better off staying where you are. Maybe take a week long or 2 week long trip to Vegas to test it out if you're bored and want a change of scenery, but I wouldn't move there without working there first, especially if you're making as much as you are now.

I will be glad when the word on the street in this business is accurate. When girls stop being told that there is big money in this business.

There is not big consistent money in this business anywhere.

Bridgette's analogy is right on, but you very well will have more nights of making 0 than $1000. Work 10 days/ nights there with more girls than customers, and you may have 5 nights where you lose money or make between 0-$100, 2-3 days /nights where you make $100-$300, and 2 nights where you make $300+.

This business is on the decline, and the problem is many girls are still being misled into thinking money is flowing in it like in 1996.

If you were to get a dancer earning average from EVERY club in this country AFTER payouts and housefees are made, I would bet the average dancer earnings are less than $150 a night.

I have not been around any dancers in A LONG TIME who AVERAGE $600-$800 a night AFTER TIP OUTS. Especially in a club with $10 dances. And what I mean by average is adding up EVERY day worked since the beginning of the year, good AND bad and dividing it by the number of days worked. Anyone who honestly nets that much per night should be thankful and had better stay put, not look for greener pastures. There are NONE!!!

Most girls nowadays who work full time and who work the floor HARD, given the fact that some nights are notoriously slow, AVERAGE between $200-$400 a night. And the ones with STEADY AVERAGE earnings closer to the $400 level have established regulars who account for probably 1/3 of what they make a month.

hey, it can't hurt to try....

but don't move there without giving it a go.

And FWIW, I'd stay put if I were making what you are making.

I laugh at the girls who say they are going to Vegas and averaging $4000 a night. Yes i've heard it from a few girls. After talking to about 2 dozen girls when I was in Vegas and they all told me a good night is $500 and a crazy awesome night is $1200, and those nights are few and far between and its only during convention season. I had more then a few tell me there are nights you walk away with less then you walked in with because of tip outs, house fees etc... I mean hell id still love to do the Vegas thing to say i've danced in Vegas but I wouldnt be going to get rich.

Some of the girls DO make that money, but they aren't just dancing. I can't tell you how many times a group of dancers went to Vegas together, and upon return there were whispers about who was sleeping with guys, doing extras they'd never do at the home club, etc.

But like they say, what happens in Vegas...

They are saying $4000 in a 8 hour shift every single night... and thats take home after tip outs. Im sorry but thats ALMOST impossible with $20 dances.. even with VIPs because from what i've been told you dont keep the entire $500... I dunno I mean even averaging $500 - $600 a night for a week would be a nice change. I know its possible to do here but its damn hard to do. Vegas is not easy money when you do dances only(by that I mean no outside of the club activities). You have to have a damn good hustle and the right club and the right customers.

^^They are not making $4000 in one night in Vegas just dancing. Not possible. In fact, I would wager there isn't a stripper in the world making $4k a night in the last few years. Maybe somebody made it ONCE, on a fluke, but this is NOT the kind of money strippers make. Whoever is saying that is flat out full of shit and should be bitchslapped promptly.
