    Default Canadian medical liability insurance?

I've heard before on this forum that Americans can't get cohesive gel implants in Canada for liability reasons. I just made an inquiry for a non-invasive procedure at a clinic in Toronto and was turned away for the same reason except it apparently applies to all non-Canadian residents. I was a little surprised. Does anyone know what the official line of reasoning is for this policy?

Nobody knows, eh? Well, this is the procedure I was inquiring about:

Damn, I wish I were Canadian.

Come here and marry me! The Supreme Court shall acknowledge our union, and I shall make you a citizen. We would have attractive children, who could give long and complicated answers about women's role in the sex trade through gene splicing technology! Slender, lipoed attractived children! Hmm? Hmm?

I don't understand anything to do with liability I'm afraid. I just know to use my health card as a free pass to make my doctor listen to all my pseudo-hypochrondriac rantings.

It's the doctor/hospital liability for treating someone who is not covered under their national plan.

Can you explain this in more detail? I understand elective cosmetic procedures to fall under the scope of private, definitely-for-profit medical care.

I actually just called and asked. The liability insurance demanded by the Canadian Medical Association only allows doctors to treat non-residents in an emergency. They used to just make non-residents sign a waiver, but waivers of that nature have limited legal force, and the CMA is now apparently making doctors toe the line. You could maybe try Quebec or BC, but the woman I talked to seemed to think it was Canada wide; insurance is managed by province though, so you might be able to manage something.

It takes a very special kind of guy to want to be in a polygamous marriage with me. Although I don't use spurs. I just wanted to ride him, and groom him and feed him apples. Cally is hard core.

BTW - I'm sorry everyone. I've had way too much coffee today. I'm in a full out AWESOME mood, but it is also causing me to inflect weirdly and obsess over keeping boys behind plexiglass. I'll be fine tomorrrow.

Meh. I'm going to work to waste my weirdness on those who will not even think I'm funny. Sheesh. Oh well. That is, I guess, why god gave me breasts.
